Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main transformation from a sheep area to new visitor and energy facilities, and note that the track became a road. The response also covers the retained fruit, soft-fruit and vegetable areas, as well as the new shop and cottages, so it addresses the task. However, some locations are misreported or unclear: the two parking areas are not both on the left of the road, and the barn is not between the chickens and vegetable field; it is south-west of the farmhouse at the road junction. The overview could also distinguish more clearly between what remained and what changed. More precise comparisons of the buildings and site layout would make the summary more complete and better supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate descriptions of 1950 and today. This makes the chronological comparison easy to follow, and phrases such as “Overall” and “In 1950” help signal the stages. However, some linking is mechanical or unclear. In the final paragraph, “beside it” and “along with first” do not make the relationships between features clear, while “One at the start and other at then end” is a fragment-like sequence. The repeated use of “on the … side” also makes the description feel list-like. Use clearer location references and connect related changes in complete, logically grouped sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant map vocabulary, including “replaced,” “upgraded,” “parking areas,” “solar panels,” and “Farm shop,” which helps communicate the main changes. There is some range in describing land use and location, but several word-choice and spelling problems reduce precision: “sheeps” is incorrect, “camping filed” and “soft friuts” are misspelled, and “better green environment” is an unnatural phrase. “Main highway” is also less suitable than the map’s “main road.” Some expressions, such as “Barn place has been changed,” are vague rather than precise. Aim for accurate labels and natural collocations, and use specific verbs such as “converted,” “added,” or “relocated” where they match the map.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more developed sentences, including “Overall, place for sheeps has been replaced…” and the sequence describing the farmhouse and chicken area. However, errors in agreement, articles, tense and sentence construction are noticeable. For example, “The plans demonstrates” should use a plural verb, and “Holiday Cottages has been built” has a plural subject with a singular verb. “In 1950, there is” shifts incorrectly into the present tense, while “Track started from the main highway to the end” has an unclear grammatical pattern. Some sentences also run together without effective punctuation, particularly “beside it the area has been utilized…”. Check subject–verb agreement, maintain past tense for the earlier plan, and punctuate complex descriptions carefully.
