Student answer (Band 5.5)
The graph is responsible for illustrating the site of a farm during the timeline of 1950 and compares with the same site to this time.
Overall,There aresome small changes that can be analized after lookinbg at the benchwood farm the fruit trees remained the same till this day but now there is a addition of a farm shop. the soft food , vegetable, farmhouse they all remained te same through the years of evolution.
There are certain things that has been changed from the year 1950. there had been certain changes done on the fruit trees sector . it can been seen that a additional farm sho now has been included . the place where the sheeps were kept before now has changed to becoming a camping field for residents to use. there a parking slot has be created for the civilians to use to park there cars. A solar panel has also been added of that place and the tracks has been replaced with roads . moreover, yhe barn had been changed to a holiday cottages. and in my perspective thye solar panels are there to provide electicity for the holiday cottages.
At last, there are certain things that remainded the same throughout the years and they bwere the soft fruits sectors the vegtable sector and the chickens. if the river is count then its still there.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the broad change from a working farm to a site with additional visitor facilities, and you note several features that remain, including the fruit trees, soft fruits, vegetables, chickens and river. You also mention the new farm shop, camping field, parking, solar panels and roads, so the response addresses the main comparison. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: the barn was not changed into holiday cottages; the cottages were added south of the eastern road, while the barn remains in a different position. The farmhouse also remains. Your overview says several areas “remained the same” without distinguishing their locations or explaining the overall development. A more precise overview and clearer descriptions of the buildings’ positions would make the key changes better developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph about changes and a final paragraph on features that remain. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through the comparison. You also use basic linking expressions such as “Overall,” “moreover” and “At last.” However, connections are sometimes mechanical or unclear, and the overview contains several ideas joined together without clear sentence boundaries. The repeated references to what “remained the same” in both the overview and conclusion also create some repetition. Organise the details more deliberately—for example, group new visitor facilities together, then describe retained farm features—and use clear references such as “these areas” only when their meaning is unmistakable.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “farm shop,” “camping field,” “solar panel,” “tracks” and “holiday cottages,” which helps communicate the main features. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or informal for an IELTS map description. “Soft food” does not name the mapped feature, and “parking slot” and “civilians” are not natural choices in this context. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “benchwood,” “analized,” “vegetble” and “electicity,” which reduce clarity and control. Aim for precise labels from the map and use neutral terms such as “visitors” or “parking area.” Check spelling carefully, especially for key features that carry the comparison.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “but” and a relative clause in “the place where the sheeps were kept before.” The main meaning is generally recoverable, but errors in sentence formation and agreement are noticeable. For example, “Overall,There aresome small changes” lacks correct spacing and a complete, controlled structure, while “there are certain things that has been changed” has subject–verb disagreement. Tense and article use are also inconsistent in phrases such as “a additional farm sho now has been included.” Punctuation is uneven, with run-on sentences and missing spaces after commas. Build accuracy first with clear past-versus-present comparisons, then add complex clauses once the basic sentence is secure.
