Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main change from a sheep area to a site with new facilities, and you note that the fruit and vegetable plots, farmhouse and chicken enclosure remain. These are relevant comparisons and give the response a clear overall focus. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: the barn is not replaced by holiday cottages, but remains in a different position, while the cottages are added south of the eastern road. The claim that the largest area was for sheep is also not supported by the plan, and the farm shop is between the fruit trees and internal road rather than simply at their corner. Develop the overview around the main land-use changes and describe locations more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the plots and the southern buildings. This helps the reader recognise that you are comparing the two plans. However, progression within the detail paragraphs is uneven, and several ideas are joined in long, unclear sequences, such as “they are also similar today as well but addition the farm shop.” The transitions “Look at the detail” and “if we see” are conversational and do not clearly organise map information. Use a consistent route through the site—for example, first the western fields and new facilities, then the eastern and southern buildings—and use clear links such as “By contrast” and “In addition.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “allocated,” “located,” “installed,” and “replaced,” and you attempt to describe changes rather than merely list labels. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the meaning difficult to follow, including “campling fields,” “barn deparment,” and “barn location changed the corna of road.” Some expressions are also imprecise: “different sectors” would be clearer as “separate plots,” while “beauty of sector” is not an appropriate way to describe a land-use change. Aim for accurate, conventional terms such as “field,” “plot,” “facility,” and “road network,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, but control is inconsistent, particularly when combining comparisons and additions. For example, “The pitcure demonstrated that how the farm looked” has an unnecessary “that,” and “The holiday cottages have introduce” uses an incorrect verb form. There are also problems with articles, agreement and sentence construction in “barn deparment was replace with the holiday cottage.” These errors sometimes make relationships between features unclear. Practise building accurate comparison sentences with a clear subject and verb, such as “The farmhouse and chicken enclosure remain, while the barn has been relocated.” Check tense consistency when contrasting 1950 with today, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
