Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
We can see two different plans of a farm In the layout infograph where one is made in 1950 and other one is made in present day. By analysing both plans we can see some changes and new things but some things did not change over the years. In 1950, there were three lands of fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetables by the river bank side. However, there is a farm shop inthe fruit trees area in the present day which was not been before. The tracks of 1950 has been developed into roads in the present time. Also now the is a barn moved and relocated near the triangle road corner which was not there before in 1950.Now there is new holiday cottages where the barn used to be near the farmhouse in 1950. The biggest difference is the whole sheepyard area. At present, the whole sheep yard are is devided into four parts. There are two parking areas, solar panel area anbd camping field area. The differnces are clear that at present time there is no sheep in that section of the plan.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify several important changes, including the conversion of tracks into roads, the addition of a farm shop and holiday cottages, and the replacement of the sheep area with new uses. These points are relevant and broadly match the plans. However, the overview is not clearly separated from the details, and some comparisons are incomplete or imprecise. For example, the barn was not simply moved: the 1950 barn site is now occupied by holiday cottages, while a barn remains elsewhere on the site. The claim that the sheep area is divided into four parts also overlooks the two parking areas, camping field and solar panels as distinct features. A clearer summary of the overall transformation, followed by accurate location-based comparisons, would make the report more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response follows a broadly sensible order, moving from the original fruit-growing plots to changes in the tracks, buildings and former sheep area. Linking phrases such as “However,” “Also” and “At present” help signal comparisons. However, the writing is presented as one continuous paragraph, so the overview and supporting details are not clearly distinguished. Several transitions are abrupt, particularly “Also now the is a barn moved,” and repeated references to “present day” make the progression feel mechanical. Some references, such as “that section,” could be more precise. Organise the report into a short overview and separate paragraphs for the western and eastern parts of the site, using clear location references to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant map vocabulary, including “river bank,” “farm shop,” “holiday cottages,” “parking areas” and “solar panel area,” so the main changes can generally be understood. There are also attempts at more specific terms such as “relocated” and “triangle road corner.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “lands” is not the best term for the plots, “sheepyard” does not describe the labelled open sheep area, and “triangle road corner” is unclear. Spelling errors such as “devided,” “differnces” and “anbd” also reduce control. Choose precise map terms and check spelling; for example, describe the former sheep area as being redeveloped for camping, parking and solar panels.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “However” and a relative clause in “where the barn used to be.” The main message is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “one is made in 1950 and other one is made in present day,” where articles and tense are needed, and “The tracks of 1950 has been developed,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect. “Which was not been before” also combines verb forms incorrectly, while “the whole sheep yard are” has agreement problems. Punctuation is sometimes missing between sentences. Practise accurate past-versus-present comparisons and check articles, agreement and verb forms; these corrections would make your varied sentence attempts clearer.
