Student answer (Band 5.0)

education plays very crusial role in human beings life. In some countries primary and secondary schools close for two months in the summer vacation. i staunchly agree that merits overlap demerits for which vindication would be elaborated in upcoming paragraphs.

To commence with, there are many advantages associated with it. The first and foremost is, students must need a break after th academic examination to stay stress free. To explain, students can learn new skills in between, there interst will encourage to learn something new. Moreover, they can get time to spend with family and can go on trip with parents. After long vacation there mind is fresh an they can focus on their syllabus. For example, in the long vacation they can learn some new skills which help them in their future.

At other hand, there are some disadvantage also associated with it, a long vacation can divert the mind of students from studies, they cannot consentrate on their work properly. The daily routine of student get damaged. They forget the manners and rules. The discipline of student get damage. The bound and attachments with teachers can get decreased

Conclusion, After taking all aspects in my conserdation, I would like to emphasize that, student can learn new skills and can spend time with family. The negative points cannot be ignored.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address both questions in a basic way: you explain that a long break can reduce stress, allow students to learn skills and spend time with family, then mention that it may disrupt study routines and discipline. However, the response is under the required 250 words: it contains 209 words, and the 9 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. This limits how fully you can develop the arguments. Your opening says the merits outweigh the demerits, but the task asks for the value of long holidays and arguments for shorter ones; the position is not consistently explained, and the conclusion does not clearly compare the two. Add specific explanations or examples for each side and state your view clearly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph about long holidays, a contrasting paragraph and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “To commence with,” “Moreover” and “At other hand” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: several claims about routine, manners, discipline and teacher relationships are placed together without explaining how they connect. Some transitions are also inaccurate or mechanical, and the conclusion mainly repeats benefits rather than drawing the discussion together. To improve, organise each paragraph around one main argument, explain it in a logical sequence, and use clear transitions such as “By contrast” and “As a result.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “stress free,” “learn new skills,” “daily routine” and “discipline.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “I staunchly agree” and “After taking all aspects in my consideration.” However, the range is limited and several choices or spellings make the meaning less clear, including “crusial,” “interst,” “consentrate,” “bound and attachments” and “merits overlap demerits.” Some expressions are also unnatural for this context. Build a more accurate range for discussing benefits and drawbacks, and check spelling and collocations. For example, describe holidays as “provide an opportunity to develop skills” rather than saying students “can learn new skills” repeatedly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a few longer structures, including “After long vacation there mind is fresh an they can focus on their syllabus,” but most sentences rely on simple patterns, and errors are frequent enough to affect clarity. Examples include missing or incorrect articles and possessives (“the academic examination,” “there mind”), subject–verb agreement (“The daily routine … get damaged”), and incomplete sentence boundaries, as in the list of disadvantages joined by commas. Capitalisation is also inconsistent, with sentences beginning “i” and “Moreover” following a comma without a space. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine related ideas using clauses such as “because” and “although.” Check agreement, articles, pronouns and punctuation during revision.
