Student answer (Band 5.0)
When summer season comes it brings joy for children in the form of summer holidays and it also brings the spark of debate among the people whether it should be so long holiday or not .It also brings the questions among some people how this long school holidays can be helpful among the children.
Summer is season which is being mostly awaited by most of the people likewise one of the example are the students of of primary and secondary .They wait year long for this to come and to enjoy holidays in this season with their family members.Nowadays, students of primary and secondary school are so busy with their studies that they are neither able to take break nor able to enjoy with family or friends. Summer holidays plays a huge significance in those student life because this is the time when they don't have to worry about waking up on time or have to worry about getting late for school like usual. This is the period of time when they gets the freedom to enjoy their life and to enjoy the season with family and friends. They are able to do creative activities which helps their creative side of the brain for better cognitive functioning . In this season , they got the chance to visit places like beaches , grandmother's home etc . For example, I rememeber whenever I got my summer holidays I got so eager to visit my grandmother's place and to play with all of my cousins over there .
Summer holidays are made not only made thinking about giving a break to primary and secondary students from daily school life , it's also been made keeping in mind about the student health concerns as in this period of time major heatwaves comes towards the earth and the temperature rises relatively in a huge amount which can cause heatstokes, dehydration, fatigue and other various illness to the students . Keeping in mind of all these things government of many countries decides to give long summer holidays during this period of time . In fact, teachers of the school provide a fair amount of homeworks and assingments to their students during this period so that the students don't lose the habit of their study also they could enjot their holidays as well.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that longer summer school holidays provides benefits rather than shorter holidays. It not only helps the students to enjoy and helps to nurture their creativity but also it protects them from various health risking illiness which can cause due to amjor heatwaves in the summer season.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You explain several benefits of long summer holidays, including time with family, creative activities, rest from school routines, and protection from heat-related illness. The personal example about visiting your grandmother also supports one point. However, the task has two parts, and the second—arguments in favour of shorter holidays—is not addressed. Your conclusion only supports longer holidays, so the response does not fully answer the question. Some benefits are also asserted rather than explained; for instance, the link between creative activities and “better cognitive functioning” needs a clearer example or explanation. To strengthen the response, discuss plausible advantages of shorter breaks, such as maintaining learning routines or reducing the need for parents to arrange childcare, and develop both sides before stating your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs about the value of long holidays, and a conclusion. The ideas within the body paragraphs are generally related, and examples help readers follow the discussion. However, progression is limited because both body paragraphs support the same side, leaving the shorter-holiday part of the task without a place in the argument. Several sentences also run together or contain repeated framing, such as “This is the period of time” and “In this season,” while punctuation spacing makes boundaries less clear. Use a paragraph to present the case for shorter holidays, and organise each paragraph around one main claim followed by explanation and evidence. More precise linking and referencing would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “cognitive functioning,” “heatwaves,” “dehydration,” and “fatigue,” and these choices help convey relevant ideas. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “plays a huge significance” and “keeping in mind.” However, several expressions are unnatural or imprecise, and spelling errors are noticeable: “heatstokes,” “assingments,” “illiness,” and “amjor.” Phrases such as “summer season” and “enjoy their life” are repeated, which limits flexibility. Aim for accurate collocations and a more concise academic style—for example, describe holidays as providing “a valuable break” rather than saying they “bring the spark of debate.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would make your meaning more consistently clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “that,” and “so that.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main ideas are usually understandable. However, errors occur frequently in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “Summer holidays plays,” “they gets,” and “longer summer school holidays provides”; these subjects require matching plural verbs. The sentence beginning “Summer is season” also needs an article, while “they don't have to worry about waking up on time or have to worry” is not parallel. Punctuation is inconsistent, with missing spaces after full stops and commas. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and building shorter, complete sentences before adding subordinate clauses.
