Student answer (Band 6.0)
Plethora of countries shutsdown their primary and secondary schools for more than 2 months in summer vacations. This helps the students to refresh their mind and play sports. However, there are arguments that be which believes that children gets carried away during long vacations.
In today's time, it is very important for children to be mentally stable and physically strong. During the summer holidays, children unequivocally play a lot of outdoor games with their friends. Children enjoy a lot while playh with their friends, Not only they are happy but they are getting stronger physically. I believe children should get longer summer holidays as it helps them to grow further. For instance, I was not good at sports, however during my summer holiday, I used to play cricket and later on because of practicing it daily is mastered the game.
Many parents and teachers have an opinion that shorter school holidays can make children learn and study more about the curriculum. They beleive that shorter school vacations can make studnts smarter and prepare them well for their future. For Example, one of my friend's school had shorter summer holiday and he used to score 20% more than I would score in my exams.
In conclusion, longer school holidays can make children mentally and physically strong, however shorter school vacations can make their grades higher and make them smarter.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development is limited by the word count, which falls below the 250-word minimum. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat superficial; for example, the argument for shorter holidays relies on a single personal anecdote rather than broader educational or social perspectives. The position is clear, but the lack of depth and the failure to meet the length requirement prevent a higher score. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning and evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In today's time', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the brevity of the paragraphs limits the overall flow. Referencing is mostly clear, though the sentence structure in the introduction ('there are arguments that be which believes') is confusing and disrupts the flow of the opening argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, though it lacks sophistication. You use some appropriate terms like 'curriculum' and 'unequivocally', but there are several instances of awkward phrasing or word choice errors, such as 'Plethora of countries shutsdown' (should be 'A plethora of countries shut down') and 'playh' (a typo for 'playing'). The range is sufficient to convey your meaning, but you need to work on collocation and precision to reach a higher band. Avoid repetitive structures and focus on using more academic vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('children gets carried away', 'one of my friend's school had') and punctuation errors. The sentence 'there are arguments that be which believes' is grammatically incoherent. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of basic grammatical rules, particularly regarding pluralisation and verb conjugation.
