Student answer (Band 5.5)
In various nations schools tend to close for longer period of time in order to give students a summer holidays, Personally, I believe that this can be reduced to limited time because of numerous reasons which I will elaborate in the following paragraphs.
On the one hand, Holidays plays a significant role in student's performance. This can contribute as a beneficial outcome to overlap with issues like stress from work for teachers as well as for learners. Furthermore, Temperature is also an aspect to considered for health of people. In India it is compulsory for every institution to remain close for whole summers in order to give a relaxing time for everyone. But many students who does not perform well is academic's school arrange a special class for them.
On the other hand, there are various other factors related to this case. But I assume that longer holidays can make student less regarded about their academics. So, holidays should be for a month or bit more. But for two months it does not make any sense anyway. Giving strict regulations to homework for holidays can contribute as a reminder for students to stick with studies.
Accordingly, teachers should behave well students so they can have a good environment to give their best in academics.
In summary, I would concede that holidays is a significant aspect for student healthy abilities in a controlled manner. Overall, I am convinced that children should provide enough leaves.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the value of holidays and arguments for shorter ones. However, the development is limited and the ideas are somewhat repetitive. The position is clear but lacks depth. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which negatively impacts the task achievement score as the ideas are not fully extended or supported. To improve, you should aim to provide more detailed explanations and concrete examples for each point raised, ensuring you meet the word count requirement to allow for a more comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is sometimes disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand' and 'Furthermore', they are occasionally used mechanically or inappropriately. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, making the flow of the argument feel a bit fragmented. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that connects logically to the next. Improving the use of referencing (e.g., 'this', 'these') would also help the text feel more cohesive.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'less regarded about their academics' and 'student healthy abilities'. Some words are used incorrectly, such as 'academic's school' instead of 'academic school'. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary. Avoid repeating simple words and try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms to express your ideas more clearly and effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Holidays plays', 'students who does not perform'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors. These errors are noticeable and occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear, although they do not completely impede communication. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammar rules, particularly subject-verb agreement and pluralisation. Proofreading your work for these common errors before finishing will significantly improve your score.
