Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the benefits of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development of ideas is limited, and the essay fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the depth of the analysis. The arguments regarding 'forgetting what they have learned' and 'stress reduction' are relevant but remain superficial. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and specific examples to ensure a more comprehensive response that meets the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'In other hand' instead of 'On the other hand'. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the final paragraph, which lacks a clear concluding thought. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect your arguments more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'load of the studying' instead of 'academic workload' and 'considebral time' (spelling error). You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary and ensure that you use words in their correct context, while also paying closer attention to spelling accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'school close' (subject-verb agreement), 'a benefits' (article usage), and 'students more likely to forget' (missing verb 'are'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with misplaced periods and commas. These errors are frequent and occasionally make the text difficult to follow. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage will help improve your accuracy.
