Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many nations, elementary and secondary schools close for two months or more in the summer vacation. These such holidays favored due to hot and sunny days students face difficulties in such days to come school. This essay will discuss my view and the argument favour of shorter holidays.
Commencing with the most salient point, foremost, Health concern of the student during the summer season to explain, in these such days students face hurdles to reach schools especially , elementary school students if the pupils have to come in these hot days they face various health concern and lack of concentration due to sunny day so these holiday are beneficial for limited time because student can continue their learning from home and complete their vacation homework.
Conversely, the argument in favour of shorter school holidays firstly, due to long holiday students get distract from there studies they started to ignore their
Studies and involve in extracurricular activities for instance, A survey was conducted in gujrat they noticed that after a long break the students academic scores become low As a reesult in first few day they face difficulties in studies and lack of concentration so school have to close school only 15-20 days during heavy sunny days after that they have to open the schools. In This way i am in favour of short Holidays.
In conclusion, school holidays are beneficial for students but due to long holiday they lose their academic balance i beleive, schools have to close for limited time not too long holidays.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development is limited. The points regarding health and academic decline are mentioned but lack depth or specific, well-explained examples. The argument for shorter holidays is somewhat repetitive, focusing heavily on the 'sunny days' aspect rather than broader educational or social benefits. While a position is clear, the ideas are under-developed, and the essay would benefit from more sophisticated reasoning to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. For example, the use of 'Commencing with the most salient point, foremost' is clunky and unnatural. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often applied incorrectly or repetitively (e.g., 'in these such days'). The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of ideas. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the necessary cohesion to guide the reader smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'these such holidays favored' and 'heavy sunny days'. The student struggles to use precise academic terminology, relying on basic descriptors. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the presence of errors in word formation (e.g., 'distract' instead of 'distracted') restrict the score. To improve, the student should focus on learning topic-specific collocations and synonyms for common words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement, punctuation, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, such as 'if the pupils have to come in these hot days they face various health concern and lack of concentration due to sunny day so these holiday are beneficial'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the errors often impede the flow of reading. Punctuation is inconsistent, particularly with comma usage and capitalisation.
