Student answer (Band 5.5)

My country School is very good. My country School Government school is is very beautiful inside and also outside three type of our schooling in my country, primary classes, secondary classes, and senior secondary classes you put the question of two months or more in the summer holidays. I no favour to this question because long holidays is very downfall. Our student because long holidays, student minds is very not shopped. I think school holidays, one month only one month holidays, students very long days for enjoy our schooling life. The value of long school holidays value is good because one side is show the long holidays is good. Maybe not good. This is a reason because long holidays, student minds downfall, our going and short holidays time is not downfall to our student mind because student is day by day, learn the lessons and questions. I argument the short school holidays because short days holidays student not enjoy our school life. secondary student and Senior secondary student to make the holidays of our short time because senior secondary classes or senior secondary classes for boards classes, board classes, mins those paper conduct to CBSE and State board in my country. CBSE is the very hard full to secondary classes to senior secondary exam because Central Board of education to give the exam of very hard compare by 2 state board exam. State board exam is very easy. Maybe not my state board of HBSE Da full form of HBSE. Haryana Board of schooling education is the conduct of exam, secondary classes and Senior secondary classes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response attempts to address the prompt but struggles to maintain a clear focus. While you mention the value of holidays and arguments for shorter ones, the ideas are repetitive and lack depth. Much of the content is tangential, focusing on personal anecdotes about school boards (CBSE/HBSE) rather than the broader educational or developmental implications of school holidays. To improve, ensure each paragraph directly answers a specific part of the prompt with clear, supported arguments. The position is somewhat unclear due to the fragmented nature of the writing, which prevents a fully developed response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no paragraphing, and the flow of ideas is disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow your argument. You rely heavily on repetitive phrasing, such as 'long holidays is very downfall' and 'my country school', which creates a mechanical feel. There is a lack of cohesive devices (e.g., 'however', 'furthermore', 'consequently') to link sentences and ideas logically. To improve, organize your response into distinct paragraphs: an introduction, two body paragraphs for the two parts of the prompt, and a conclusion. Use transition words to connect your thoughts.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, which hinders the expression of complex ideas. You frequently use basic terms like 'good', 'very', and 'hard', and there are issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'student minds is very not shopped' and 'hard full'. The vocabulary is often insufficient to discuss the topic with precision. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to education and academic development, and practice using synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'long holidays is'), sentence structure (many run-on sentences or fragments), and article usage. The lack of punctuation makes it difficult to identify where sentences begin and end. You rely almost exclusively on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex explanations often result in errors that distort the intended meaning. Focusing on basic sentence construction—ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb—will help improve your clarity and accuracy.
