Student answer (Band 6.5)
Almost all around the globe, the primary and middle schools closes their activities for two months or more especially in the summer vacations. Summer holidays were a long period of bliss. It has a lot of beneficial effects on students in association with it there are some flaws.
Summer holidays is especially that time of a child during he got himself engaged in different thrilling and moral activities. In these vacations some of the students do jobs in order to make money for something for which they have dreamed off. This gives them a sense of responsibility and they got know the importance of money. During their job they interact with different people which sharpens their skill of communication and it will help them a lot in the upcoming life. Some of the students went to meet their grandparents and spent their holidays with them. The grandparents have collected a lot of sweets for their kids and they play with them and enjoy in their company. Children learn a lot of things from their parents as those were the people who have spent their whole life in this world always experiencing new things which life has made them to face. Some children went towards northern site and enjoy the cold weather there in the burning heat of summer. I usually went to northern areas whenever there are my summer vacations. i went to Swat, especially Kalam valley. This is the place famous for its charming beauty, snow covered mountains along with crystal clear water. This is the place which brought me close to nature and I feel very energetic to explore the new places there. One I went to the Mohadand lake there and it was a very beautiful and full of colour. Hence summer holidays brings new experiences and thrills to children.
However, there are some arguments that encourage shorter summer holidays. These arguments are that after such a long period most of the students take time to continue their regular studies as after a long period of joy most of the students feel comfortable and stop caring of their school work so this is a basic argument which encourages is for shorter summer holidays. In addition to it there is also another argument which states that as during these holidays most of the students went on vacations rather than staying home so their books were also misplaced or lost during such a long period. Further those children who do jobs usually engage themselves in earning money and pay less attention on their studies.
Thus, in conclusion I would say that students should continue their studies and other activities along then because it gave them a sense of balance that how do they manage everything in their lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development is uneven. The first half is dominated by personal anecdotes about visiting northern areas, which lacks the analytical depth required for an academic task. The arguments for shorter holidays are more relevant but remain somewhat superficial. To reach a higher band, you should focus less on personal narrative and more on general societal or educational impacts, such as the 'summer slide' in academic performance or the logistical challenges for working parents.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'In addition to it', 'Further', 'Thus'). Some transitions are abrupt, and the logical progression within paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by the shift from general points to specific personal stories. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the final sentence where 'along then' is confusing. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'thrilling', 'responsibility', and 'energetic'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'closes their activities' instead of 'close for', 'in association with it there are some flaws', and 'went towards northern site'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your expression. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more academic phrasing rather than conversational descriptions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('schools closes', 'holidays is'), tense inconsistency ('I usually went', 'I went to Swat'), and article usage. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are persistent enough to keep the score in the 5.5–6.0 range. You should pay closer attention to basic verb forms and ensure consistency in tense when discussing general facts versus personal experiences.
