Student answer (Band 6.5)
In many countries, summer holidays have become a significant value in primary and secondary schools. providing longer holidays around two months or more it has resulted in long time study break and reduce concentration on studies. I strongly believe the benefits of shorter holidays lead to better focus on studies. However, longer holidays can assist stay motivated and achieving good academic performance also keep focus on goals.
The primary value of long school holiday is that children have valuable time to spend with their families and relatives. It allows them to explore activities and reduce their stress and degradation. In addition, they have time to practice regular exercises such as yoga, running, swimming. For example, in this break time learners concentrate many kinds of activities such as cricket, football and several competitions that enhance their co-curricular activities.
However, they also spend lots of time with their families through travel and refreshments. As a result, it may reduce their pain and physical and mental life-balance. Furthermore, sharing their emotions , which can help them to maintain a strong relationship. However, there are wide variety of reasons why children should spend shorter holidays. Initially, if they have more time during summer holidays they lose their concentration on studies. After long time school holidays, students have become changes their routine and steadily forget school schedules. therefore, shorter holidays are effective and essential for learner to maintain their study routine. For example, shorter holidays can maintain student attractions, As a result, they may able to complete their regular tasks and school works, it is beneficial for achieving better academic performance and welfare of countries economy.
To sum up, long holidays are significant for practicing others activities but shorter holidays are essential for concentrate on studies. I firmly believe that holidays are can help escape from studies and get a huge time for spending times with family members and share their emotional things.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. While you provide examples like sports and family time, the explanation of why shorter holidays benefit the economy is vague and under-developed. Your position is generally clear, but the introduction is slightly confusing, as it presents contradictory views on whether long holidays help or hinder academic performance. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained argument with a clear link to the prompt's specific questions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'However', and 'To sum up'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as using 'However' to introduce a new point that is not necessarily a contrast to the previous one. Additionally, some sentences lack logical flow, particularly in the introduction where the transition between ideas is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express basic ideas about school and family life. You attempt some less common vocabulary, such as 'co-curricular' and 'degradation', though the latter is used incorrectly in this context. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'reduce their pain' and 'maintain student attractions'. To reach a higher band, focus on using words in their correct context and expanding your range of academic collocations to express ideas with more precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('holidays are can help'), article usage, and sentence fragments. Some sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, which occasionally makes the meaning difficult to follow. For example, 'As a result, they may able to complete their regular tasks and school works, it is beneficial...' contains a comma splice. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
