Student answer (Band 6.0)
In different countries, primary and secondary schools give holidays for two or more than two months in summer. In my opinion the long holidays are good for students.
In long holidays the student should go to the northen areas and visit to there families also spend time with there grandparents. In school time they cannot do this activities. Most of the schools give the homework to the students which is called summer vacation homework. In this homework there is a lot of different type of activities like go to the trip and take picture and past in the notebook and drawing on the stones. Numerous students learn different types of skills during this time period.Summer holidays also protect the students from heat wave and many of the student have low stamina to bear heat .
Many young students learn different type of skills some student learn computer course and some students work to earn money and pay the school fees. Sometime school don't give the summer holidays to the young students because of summer campe in summer campe they can prepare the board exams.
Long holidays have disadvantage like the primary school student don't serious in study after holidays because their routine is change in the summer holidays they distrube the teachers and other students.
I would like to conclude this debate as long holidays are good for students because they visite different places which they can't visit during school time but if parents give the time to their childe for daily two hours for study their routine is not distrube after holidays.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development is limited. While you mention visiting family and learning skills, these points are not fully extended with specific examples or logical depth. The argument for shorter holidays is briefly touched upon, focusing on academic routine, but it lacks a balanced exploration. To improve, ensure each main idea is supported by a clear explanation and a concrete example. The position is clear, but the overall development remains somewhat superficial, which is characteristic of a Band 5.5 or 6.0 response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite mechanical and sometimes repetitive (e.g., 'In long holidays', 'In this homework'). There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas within and between sentences. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'visit to there families', where the pronoun usage is confusing. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the transitions between the benefits of long holidays and the drawbacks of them could be smoother to improve the overall flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains basic and repetitive. You frequently use simple terms like 'good', 'different', and 'learn'. There are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'northen' instead of 'northern', 'there' instead of 'their', and 'distrube' instead of 'disturb'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. To achieve a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and more precise collocations, while ensuring that spelling and word forms are accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'Most of the schools give the homework to the students which is called summer vacation homework' (missing punctuation and awkward phrasing). There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, article usage, and word forms (e.g., 'the student don't serious in study'). These errors are persistent and sometimes cause the reader to pause, though the meaning is generally conveyed. Increasing the variety of sentence structures and focusing on basic grammatical accuracy will help improve this score.
