Student answer (Band 6.5)

Indeed, in majority of parts of world elementary and educational institutions mostly closed for two and more months during summer vacation. This essay will discuss both benefits of longer schools holidays as well as there are some reasons why shorter holiday would be better. i will explicate all of those in upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with, there are plethora of reasons why it is important to have long holidays in educational institution. The first predominant one is, it is very good for students mental health during classes every student have hectic schedules and long syllabus. Children have to concentrate on their studies for good grades and learn something during classes. During busy work they do not have to time to care of themself. If students get long break they can utilize that time to properly care of themself . Apart from this, students can give time to their families and friends which build good bonding between parents and their peers. students also have chance to going on vacation or hangouts with their love ones. Furthermore, students can join recreation center for activities which ultimately good for their physically and mentally health. it will also have good impact on their health, student can stay fit and healthy when they participate in any activity.

On other hand, there are few people who think that children should have shorter holidays rather than longer. The first and foremost reason is, students will forget all the things which they learn in class because in holidays lots of students spend their time on screen like, laptops, mobile phones, computer etc. they will start playing games, making videos which automatically disturb their minds and they will distract by all of these at the end whatever they learned from schools. they will not get good grades in their exams or test .Moreover, parents will get in trouble because lots of parents are working they do not have much time to care of their children. it is make their life more harder if children have long holidays their parents will struggling with childcare. children needs proper care i is hard of every parents to do their own work as the same time they have to take attention their kids. At the consequences. all families will disturb.

In conclusion, i believe that holidays are important for each students. while extended longer breaks give student life stress free, it is good for their growth and development whereas, the potential of learning loss from students. ultimately both are equally essential for students.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding 'learning loss' is a strong point, but it is not fully explored with specific examples or a more nuanced discussion. The conclusion is a bit weak, as it simply states that both are essential without synthesising the arguments effectively. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is supported by more specific, logical reasoning rather than general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. There is a logical progression from the benefits of long holidays to the drawbacks. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'At the consequences' at the end of the third paragraph, which is grammatically incorrect and disrupts the flow. Additionally, some transitions between sentences are abrupt. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would enhance the overall cohesion of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There is some repetition of basic words like 'good', 'students', and 'holidays'. While there are attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'plethora' and 'explicate', these are sometimes used in contexts that feel slightly unnatural. There are also several word-choice errors, such as 'distract by all of these' instead of 'distracted by all of these'. Expanding your range of collocations and synonyms would significantly improve this score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include missing articles ('in majority of parts of world'), subject-verb agreement ('every student have'), and incorrect verb forms ('students can give time... which build good bonding'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences lacking proper structure or containing run-on clauses. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
