Student answer (Band 7.0)
Increasingly, the debate surrounding the widespread shift towards the value of long summer vacations in schools has gained significant attention. Although there are different views on this matter, I strongly believe that allowing long summer holidays to ensure students have enough time to focus on other skills is the most pragmatic approach to adopt in modern society.
A primary justification for this view is that it significantly reduces not only their study pressure but also provides them enough time to concentrate on. other activities. Specifically, students can stay at home and take participate in other recreational activities and comfortably focus on their passion. For instance, many study institutes and school reported a massive improvement in their student's hobbies and creativity after allowing three months of summer vacations.
Admittely, the issue of a noticeable decline in students academic performance cannot be ignored. This is specifically because young learners might loose their touch with studies and school during long holidays. To illustrate this drawback, many families and legal guardians often extremely difficulties in sending their child to school and adopt to academic learning schedules after long vacations. However, provided there is sensible management this issue can be resolved. Therefore, we should still focus on allowing long summer holidays to ensure students have enough time to focus on other skills rather than worrying too much about short term challenges.
In conclusion, when looking at the issue of disputes regarding long summer vacations in school the best choice is clear. I firmly maintain that allowing long summer holidays to ensure students have enough time to focus on other skills is the most affective approach. While the concerns regarding decline in students academic performance cannot be ignored, ultimately the long-term advantages outhweigh any temporary setbacks.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. You maintain a clear position throughout, advocating for long holidays. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention 'recreational activities' and 'creativity,' these points could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The argument for shorter holidays is acknowledged, but the counter-argument is brief. To improve, ensure that both sides of the debate are explored with equal depth and that your supporting examples are more detailed rather than generalized statements like 'many study institutes reported'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'A primary justification,' 'Specifically,' 'Admittely,' and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and flow. For instance, the phrase 'the issue of disputes regarding long summer vacations' in the conclusion is a bit wordy and repetitive. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different arguments, which helps the overall progression of your ideas. Strengthening the variety of linking words would enhance the cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'pragmatic approach,' 'recreational activities,' and 'academic performance.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'take participate' (should be 'participate'), 'loose' (should be 'lose'), and 'affective' (should be 'effective'). Additionally, 'outhweigh' is misspelled. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over vocabulary and spelling. To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring accurate word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. You successfully employ complex sentences, such as 'Although there are different views on this matter, I strongly believe that...'. However, there are frequent grammatical slips, including 'many study institutes and school reported' (should be 'schools'), 'often extremely difficulties' (should be 'often have extreme difficulty'), and 'adopt to' (should be 'adapt to'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will help improve your score.
