Student answer (Band 5.5)

In many countries primary and secondary school close for one or two months in summer holidays there are numerous arguments with the both on the length of holidays are shorter

One the one hand, the individual who are in the favour of the length of school holidays because in holiday pupils who are studying in school they got rest for a short period of time two reduce stress of study and spend time with their family while visiting or travelling to other places.Moving further if the length of holidays are higher than one month than at that time injoy that they can enjoy their free time while playing games with their friends or can able to do many other interesting activities.

On the other hand, parents of students got frustrated from the length of summer holidays because children spending long time on just playing games while sitting at home or watching tv. And they just enjoyed that time just on playing games or watching videos on mobile phones due to this they become lazy because they disturb their secdule of wake up early in morning and doing their home and also of eating of food.

In conclusion In My Opinion both primary and secondary school just have to close for one month and teachers have to give proper time table of doing home work and of other extra curricular activities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the ideas are under-developed and lack specific examples or depth. The response is also under the 250-word minimum requirement, which significantly impacts the ability to fully develop the arguments. The position is clear, but the overall development is limited by the brevity and the lack of supporting evidence. To improve, you should expand on each point with concrete examples and ensure you meet the word count requirement to allow for a more thorough exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'Moving further if the length of holidays are higher than one month than at that time injoy'. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the logical progression is hindered by grammatical errors. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the internal cohesion within paragraphs needs to be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is clear and consistent throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, often relying on simple phrasing like 'playing games' or 'watching tv'. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'the individual who are in the favour' and 'disturb their secdule'. The range of vocabulary is limited and does not demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and to express your ideas with more precision and academic tone.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('the individual who are', 'holidays are higher'), article usage, and sentence structure. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple or poorly constructed complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and practicing the use of more complex grammatical structures with greater accuracy.
