Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While you mention benefits like learning computer skills or family business, these points are not fully extended with specific examples or logical depth. The position is clear, but the explanation of 'laziness' and 'distraction' is repetitive and lacks nuance. To improve, ensure that each main idea is supported by a clear, well-explained example that directly relates to the prompt's requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'There also have some arguments' or 'These are the reason of the arguments'. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. While there is an overall progression, the lack of sophisticated linking words makes the flow feel disjointed at times. Improving the variety and accuracy of your transition signals will help the ideas connect more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'big opportunity', 'good activities', and 'do several things'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'feels them quite pressure' instead of 'puts them under pressure' and 'disconnect with study' instead of 'disconnected from their studies'. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('everyone dose not use', 'student get free time'), incorrect verb forms ('they can used', 'they can gives'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for tense consistency and subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your accuracy.
