Student answer (Band 5.0)
The value of long school holidays play a vital role in the life of teachers and the students of the primary and the secondary schools. In this current era of scientific and technological progress, we find ourselves in the modern world where long school holidays play a vital role in distant learning for the students and teachers. It is crucial that different people have different perceptions and level of intelligence regarding the given statement. I will discuss more broadly in the upcoming paragraphs. which will lead to a plausible conclusion.
From my perspective, there are various viewpoints to consider. First and foremost, long school holidays has been deep effect in the memory and intelligence of the students as well as the performance of the teacher as well. It plays a deep sound effect on enjoyment of the students in which they fulfill their dream of extra curricular activities and make themselves a good sportsman and build their skills and confidence without the pressure of studies.
Furthermore, long school holidays make the the students dull and they loose their interest in studies and become part of some kind of bad companies.
Shorter school holidays help in students to remain active in their studies and other activities as well and it also engage the students and teachers in their work and positions in a stable way.
Taking these point into consideration, from a personal point of view, I am inclined to believe that shorter school holidays have great importance as compared to long school holidays.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development is quite limited. The ideas are presented in a very general way without specific examples or detailed explanations. For instance, the mention of 'bad companies' is vague and lacks context. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments are underdeveloped, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, you should expand on your points with concrete examples or logical consequences, ensuring each paragraph provides a thorough exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The introduction is somewhat repetitive and contains filler phrases like 'different people have different perceptions' which do not add value. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'Furthermore', 'Taking these point into consideration'), they are sometimes used mechanically or incorrectly. The transition between ideas is often abrupt, and the lack of clear topic sentences makes it difficult for the reader to follow the argument's development. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward word choices and collocations, such as 'deep sound effect' and 'loose their interest' (should be 'lose'). The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on simple descriptors that do not demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition. For example, instead of 'make the students dull', consider using 'lead to academic regression' or 'diminish intellectual engagement'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'holidays play' vs 'holidays has'), incorrect article usage, and sentence structure errors (e.g., 'long school holidays has been deep effect'). The range of sentence structures is limited, with a reliance on simple or slightly flawed complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence fragments. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for common errors like 'loose' versus 'lose'. Practising more complex sentence structures, such as using relative clauses or conditional sentences, will also help.
