Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you have identified both parts of the prompt, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting examples or depth. For instance, the discussion on the benefits of shorter holidays is repetitive and lacks specific evidence. To improve, you must expand your points with clear explanations and relevant examples to ensure a more comprehensive response. The position is clear, but the lack of length prevents a full exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is often disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'On the other hand' and 'In addition', their usage is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as the awkward transition 'Moreover. is also beneficial'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the logical progression between sentences is hindered by grammatical errors. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that connects logically to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple phrasing, such as 'modify their mind' (which is an incorrect collocation) and 'family bounding' (should be 'bonding'). There are also several spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'easy' instead of 'essay' and 'shoter' instead of 'shorter'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary and ensure you are using words in their correct context. Focus on learning common collocations to make your writing sound more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are frequent issues with sentence structure, such as 'Many parents busy in their business life', which lacks a verb, and 'making foe teachers', which is a typo. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing or misplaced commas and periods. You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction—ensuring every sentence has a subject and a verb—and proofread carefully for punctuation and spelling mistakes.
