Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the value of long holidays and arguments for shorter ones. However, the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding 'learning new things' is mentioned multiple times without specific examples or depth. The position is generally clear, but the reasoning is frequently obscured by unclear phrasing, such as the claim that schools close because 'every person has sick' in high temperatures. To improve, you should focus on providing more logical, well-supported arguments rather than repeating the same points in different ways.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps the overall structure. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. Cohesive devices are used, but they are frequently mechanical or misused, such as starting sentences with 'In my arguments' or 'So that'. Referencing is also problematic; for example, the phrase 'the another person' is unclear in context. The logical flow between sentences is often interrupted by grammatical errors, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument consistently. More variety and precision in linking words would improve the coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'things', 'everything', and 'something new', which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are also several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'every person has sick' instead of 'people get ill' and 'spices and name of the many animals' instead of 'species'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of precision and the reliance on simple, often misused vocabulary prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'That the good ideas'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'In my opinion, That the good ideas for the students because in the summer seasons many place faces the high temperature'. While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, these are almost always faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and a correctly conjugated verb.
