Student answer (Band 5.0)
In many countries, primary and secondary schools close for months or more in the summer holidays, Although there are lot of benefits of long school holidays and short.
On the one hand , the main reason of long school holidays are learnt another skill, This is due to fact that if students have long holidays in the school and students learnt new skill such as cooking and dancing and they improve our skill and gain knowledge it can help in future. This is better for pupils because they learnt many things in their free time. Therefore, long holidays in school are important because they learnt more skills.
On the other hand, the major reason why people prefer short holidays because they are connect with study .To justify, if students have short holidays students connected with study and always focus on our study without any distraction and then students more knowledge gain and better preform in the exam time, mostly students happy when they going to school and enjoyed with our friends and when they have short holidays they do not bored. As a result, short holidays are better then long holidays.
To conclude, even though there both reason are benefical because of in the long holidays students learnt new skill and short time holidays students focus on study.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the ideas are significantly under-developed and repetitive. The essay fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which negatively impacts the depth of the argument. The position is clear, but the supporting points lack specific examples or logical depth. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for full development of your ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the flow between and within sentences is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'To justify' or 'As a result' used in contexts that do not logically follow. Referencing is also problematic; for example, the use of 'our' instead of 'their' creates confusion about who the writer is referring to. The progression of ideas is limited, and the conclusion is very brief, failing to effectively summarise the main points of the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, often relying on simple phrases like 'long holidays' and 'short holidays'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'learnt another skill' instead of 'learning new skills' and 'better preform' instead of 'perform better'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas clearly. To reach a higher band, you need to incorporate a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary and focus on using words in their correct grammatical forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, tense usage, and sentence structure. For instance, 'the main reason of long school holidays are learnt another skill' is grammatically incorrect. Many sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, making them difficult to follow. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty. You need to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading to eliminate errors in tense and word order.
