Student answer (Band 5.0)

In many countries , primary and secondary schools close for two or three months in summer holidays in my concept the value of long school holidays are some better for the students because the weather of summer is too hot.In these holidays the students prepare there summer homework at home properly ,this is better for students and covered him for hot weather in homes. Some schools open summer camps ,i think this is not better for the students because in this session two or three hours classes occurs in very hot weathers ,the students went schools proper school in very hot weather this is not better for the students health in summer session

The long holidays are better the intelligent students because they cover their syllabus timely and manage properly but on the other hand the week students they waste their mostly time in these vacations .They have not cover properly their course and homework, parents forced him to studies and homework. If the the overall view my conclusion is summer holidays are mostly better for students.

The arguments in favour of shorter school holidsays , in my opinion the school which close short and open properly , they manage their courses timely and these school are better for those schools which are mostly close

these results are better because they start test series in extra time and occurs extra curriculum activities for students and facilitate. In these schools the mostly toper students create and punctual. In my experience those schools and acadmies whose are given shorter holidays they are hardworking students and teachers for example of my life I study in academy which study fourteen hours per day and very hardworking and punctual their managments are high class so I am in favour of short holidays if you need success.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding the 'hot weather' and 'intelligent vs. weak students' are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The position is clear, but the supporting examples, such as the personal anecdote about an academy, are not fully integrated into a broader academic argument. To improve, you should focus on providing more balanced, well-reasoned points that explore the educational and social implications of school holiday lengths rather than relying on personal experience alone.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. There is a lack of logical progression between sentences, and the use of cohesive devices is minimal or inaccurate (e.g., 'If the the overall view my conclusion is...'). The transition between the two main ideas is abrupt, and the referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. To improve, use a wider range of linking words such as 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' or 'on the other hand' to connect ideas more effectively and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'covered him for hot weather' and 'mostly toper students.' The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas precisely. Many phrases are awkward or non-standard, which occasionally impedes the reader's understanding. To improve, focus on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and avoid using basic words like 'better' or 'good' repeatedly. Expanding your range of academic vocabulary will help you convey your arguments with more sophistication and clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('the value... are'), pronoun usage ('covered him'), and sentence structure. There is a heavy reliance on simple sentences, and attempts at complex structures are often faulty, leading to confusion. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions. Proofreading for common errors like run-on sentences will also help improve the overall accuracy of your writing.
