Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 164 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay attempts to address both parts of the prompt—the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones—the ideas are underdeveloped and repetitive. The position is somewhat unclear due to the fragmented nature of the writing. To improve, you must expand on your arguments with specific examples and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a full exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a clear logical structure. There is no paragraphing, and the transition between ideas is abrupt and often confusing. Cohesive devices are almost entirely absent, making the text difficult to follow. For example, the shift from discussing long holidays to shorter ones is marked only by a simple 'Shorter holidays is better then long', which does not provide a smooth transition. To improve, you should organize your essay into clear paragraphs (introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion) and use linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'on the other hand' to connect your thoughts.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. Words like 'good', 'better', and 'study' are used repeatedly. There are also frequent errors in word choice and form, such as 'his mind taking time to work' and 'playings'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to discuss the topic in an academic manner. You should focus on learning topic-specific collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and improve the precision of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'student study', 'schools giving'), sentence fragments, and incorrect verb tenses. The sentence structures are simple and often lack proper punctuation, making the text feel disjointed. For instance, 'If schools giving him holiday then when he come back to schools then he understands easily' is grammatically incorrect and hard to parse. You need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb forms and consistent tense usage.
