In majority of nations, vaccations of student of elementary, middle and hight schlos last for two months or can be extended further. The primary reason why most of the countries provide long holidays to their students because of harsh summer heat. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly regarding the 'comfort zone' and 'laziness' arguments in the second and third body paragraphs. While the ideas are relevant, they could be more deeply explored with specific examples or more nuanced reasoning. The introduction and conclusion are present, but the overall structure is slightly simplistic. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with distinct supporting details rather than restating the same concept in different words.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion', but some transitions feel mechanical or slightly forced. There are instances where referencing is unclear, such as the use of 'these kind of countries' or 'its effect are also visible'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main arguments. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their intended antecedents to improve the flow between sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks sophistication. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'vaccations', 'hight schlos', 'paragaphers', 'intance', and 'confort'. These errors are noticeable and detract from the overall quality of the writing. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'extra-curricular activities' and 'comfort zone', the overall lexical control is limited. To achieve a higher score, the student needs to focus on accurate spelling and expanding their range of academic collocations to express ideas more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('holidays is provides', 'offer's long vaccations', 'individuals brain is not used'), incorrect pluralisation ('childrens'), and awkward phrasing ('how students can refresh their brains'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and plural forms would be highly beneficial.
