Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 75 words. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed. While you have introduced the topic and stated a personal position, the body paragraphs required to explore the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones are entirely missing. To achieve a higher band, you must develop each part of the prompt with supporting arguments and relevant examples. Currently, the response is too brief to demonstrate the ability to develop a coherent argument, which severely limits the score for this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The response consists of a single short paragraph. There is no evidence of paragraphing or logical progression between ideas. While you use basic cohesive devices like 'while' and 'so that', the lack of length prevents the development of a cohesive structure. To improve, you need to organize your response into clear paragraphs, with each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt, and use a wider range of linking words to connect your ideas logically.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'educational institutes' and 'visit to another places' show limited control. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'good necessary' (a redundancy) and 'visit to another places' (grammatical error). To improve, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to education and time management, and ensure that your word choices are natural and accurate. The current range is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
There are several grammatical errors in this short text. For example, 'educational institutes have remain closed' should be 'have remained closed', and 'thare are' is a spelling error. The sentence structure is simple, and there is no evidence of complex sentence forms. To improve, you need to focus on subject-verb agreement and verb tense consistency. Furthermore, you should practice incorporating complex structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, to demonstrate a wider range of grammatical control.
