Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you mention health concerns and the need for rest, the arguments are often repetitive or lack logical depth. For instance, the point about online classes in summer is introduced but not explained in relation to the prompt. The position is generally clear, but the lack of precise vocabulary and structural control makes the arguments feel underdeveloped. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on one clear idea supported by a specific, well-explained example rather than listing several loosely connected points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between and within them is often disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'To commence' and 'Moving on further', they are sometimes used incorrectly or mechanically. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'Which highlighted the importance of in summers school provide good work'. The progression of ideas is hindered by awkward phrasing and a lack of smooth transitions between sentences. To reach a higher band, focus on using cohesive devices to link ideas logically rather than just starting sentences with transition words.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'weather' instead of 'whether', 'small age groups children's', and 'easily survive in summer'. Some phrases are non-idiomatic, such as 'school boys to rest and fun'. The range is sufficient to communicate basic meaning, but the lack of precision and the presence of spelling errors (e.g., 'there fore') indicate a need for a broader and more accurate vocabulary base to express academic arguments effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many countries have too much hot days'), sentence fragments, and incorrect word order. Complex sentence structures are attempted but are often faulty, leading to confusion. For example, 'In this future will be important to long term to short term holiday is good for students' is grammatically incoherent. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex structures. Punctuation is also inconsistent throughout the text.
