Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is widely acknowledge that after taking the final exames in school, learners obtain some time to relax and chill before stating the next samester in primary and secondary schools. Opinions are sharply diveded on wether this concept is good or not. This essay is about disccusing both views in an objective approach.

One compelling argument in favor of long school holidays is investing that holiday in order to enhance students' hobbies and other aspectes of life. During restdays alot of ambitious educaters spend their free time with learning new languages ,soft skills and even thier social relationships with thier family and classmates. An additional justification lies in the fact that the indivaduals nature has to obtain long off periods in order to stay healthy and foucesed. By appling this rule schoolers are having some leiseur time. In addition they are fostering their socail and acadamic skills wich might effect their life positively for a duration off time.

Tho se who oppose this view often argue that these long duration of not studing should be abolished foe several reasons. This steems from the fact that nemours number of student wate thier holidays on trivial habits such as using phones or watching television for more than two hours a day. Therefor when schools will open again they may struggle with rereach the enhancment that they reached the previous year.

Taking every thing into account, it is evident that this concept is one of the most debeted issue and each citizen has his own perspective about it. in light of the above discussion it can be clearly seen that some indivaduals belive that long holidays are better. Yet others had the exact opposite point of view.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about 'investing in hobbies' is mentioned but lacks specific examples or depth. The argument for shorter holidays is also brief, focusing primarily on screen time. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations or concrete examples. The position is clear, but the conclusion is repetitive and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'In addition', 'Therefore', and 'Taking everything into account'. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly forced. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'By applying this rule schoolers are having some leisure time', where the connection to the previous sentence is weak. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main viewpoints, which helps the reader follow your argument structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'exames', 'samester', 'diveded', 'wether', 'disccusing', 'aspectes', 'educaters', 'indivadual', 'foucesed', 'leiseur', 'socail', 'acadamic', 'nemours', 'wate', and 'debeted'. These errors are noticeable and detract from the overall quality of the writing. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the high frequency of spelling mistakes and some awkward word choices (e.g., 'rereach the enhancment') limit the score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('the individuals nature has to obtain'), incorrect preposition usage ('for a duration off time'), and awkward phrasing ('when schools will open again they may struggle with rereach the enhancment'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with missing spaces after commas and incorrect capitalization. While the meaning is generally clear, the high density of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents a higher score.
