Student answer (Band 5.0)

In schools, students have to do alot of hardwork and task which make them exhausted and fully tired. In my opinion, holidays are a great way to relax after having busy schedule. Students should spent their holidays in useful things. For instance they should join some learning claases or language class and also participate in some kind of sports in which they have interest. Students should not spent their precious in wasteful things ike scrolling reels,or browsing through internet .This things just stop children to do some physical activites. They should complete their summer task on time. i am also free from my studies. Recently i just completed my intermediate exams. meanwhile i am preparing for the ielts test .I also took english classes as well to gain some confident and to improve my grammer and vocabulary .Fluency was also the main problem for me Then i worked on it .Take some classes and also watch youtube videos to help me in this regards And as a result my Fluency is much better than it was before .In conclusion i would like to say that Time has so much importance in our lives we should spend it carefully Instead of doing bad things which can also damage your ability to think you should do useful things It will also be very helpful for your daily life task. Through this you will be able to face every challenge of the life

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you touch upon the value of holidays and suggest activities, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack depth. The prompt asks for the value of long holidays and arguments for shorter ones; however, your response focuses primarily on personal advice about how students should spend their time rather than addressing the broader educational or societal implications of the holiday length. The position is clear, but the lack of expansion on the specific arguments requested means the task is only partially addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear paragraph structure, appearing as a single block of text. This makes it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your arguments. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices (e.g., 'For instance', 'In conclusion'), the flow is often disrupted by abrupt shifts in topic, such as moving from general advice to your personal experience with IELTS preparation. The lack of clear paragraphing and logical transitions between ideas prevents the essay from achieving a higher score in this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'useful things' and 'bad things'. There are also some errors in word choice, such as 'claases' (spelling) and 'gain some confident' (should be 'confidence'). To improve, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and ensure correct word forms are used in context. The range is limited, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'This things just stop children'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'Students should spent'), and punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after commas and inconsistent capitalization. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors indicates a lack of control over complex structures. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors will help improve your accuracy.
