Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you identify the value of holidays (health/safety due to extreme heat) and mention arguments for shorter holidays (academic loss), the points are under-developed and the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence. To improve, you must ensure you fully address both parts of the prompt with sufficient supporting detail and reach the required length. The lack of a conclusion and the unfinished nature of the argument prevent a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay uses basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'Consequently', but the overall structure is weak. Paragraphing is present, but the logical flow is disrupted by the incomplete nature of the text. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'This probably effect on their health', where the antecedent is vague. The progression of ideas is hindered by the abrupt ending, making it difficult to follow a coherent argument throughout the piece.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'badly effects' (incorrect collocation) and 'waste a lot of time'. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'long day holidays' and 'relative home'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the range is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. You should focus on learning more precise collocations and academic vocabulary to improve your ability to discuss abstract topics.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'As it is an argue that', 'it have ,many disadvantages', and 'the syllabus of children do not complete'. Sentence structures are predominantly simple, and there is a lack of control over complex grammatical forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas and missing full stops. Improving your grasp of subject-verb agreement and sentence construction is essential for higher band scores.
