Student answer (Band 5.5)

people argue that, in most countries primary and high schools remains close for two months or more time during summer holidays. Long school holidays can leads to a lot of benefits as well as smaller problems with children minds towards study Because longer holidays gave children a long relax time and they can improve their skill by using the time in right way And the problem can be that children can loose their focus and donot remained diciplended .

In a lot of countries in asia like pakistan ,india and others schools offers long time holidays in summer season it can be proved better for children if they are interested in their work for example if a student is studing in artificial intelligence he can learn diffrent skills like machine learning ,deep learning etc these skill will help student in his career and studies after holidays also.Students can refresh their mind by planing trip with friends i think it is very important with work. The loses that can ocure that Student maybe distracted from his goals and involving too much in mobile phone is also problem for children can be occured in long holidays.

The opinion of most people seemed to be in favour of short holidays because student in short holidays stay connected with their studies and they maintain their focus on their life time goals also.In this case children will not take part in mobile intertainment too much this thing will connect student with environment socially .on thec other hand student can feel bordem if he donot get long relax time after exams and during summer student also face harsh heat .

In conclusion i think the holidays provided to students should not too short as ell as too long holidays should be around one an half month maximume this will remain a student connected with studies and also student will not get bordem.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the mention of 'artificial intelligence' as an example of how students use their time is relevant but lacks depth. The position is generally clear, though the conclusion introduces a specific recommendation (one and a half months) that was not fully explored in the body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations and concrete examples to support your arguments, ensuring that the link between the holiday length and the student's academic or social outcomes is more thoroughly analysed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or missing. For example, the transition between the benefits and the drawbacks within the first paragraph is abrupt. There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas between sentences and paragraphs. Additionally, the punctuation is inconsistent, with missing commas and periods, which disrupts the flow of the text. Improving the use of transition signals such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'on the other hand' would significantly enhance the logical progression of your arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'loose their focus' (lose), 'diciplended' (disciplined), 'mobile intertainment' (entertainment), and 'bordem' (boredom). These spelling and collocation errors are frequent. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'artificial intelligence' and 'machine learning', the overall range is limited. To improve, focus on learning correct collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of common academic terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('schools remains', 'holidays can leads'), incorrect verb forms ('is studing', 'can be occured'), and missing articles. While the meaning is generally clear, these errors are persistent and require the reader to work harder to interpret your intended message. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs, before attempting more complex structures.
