Student answer (Band 5.0)
In summer season, a plethora of countries, primary and secondary school provide two months or more holidays for pupils where the schools are closed. Although enough highlight the value of long school holidays in first paragraph, it also discuss the arguments in favour of shorter school holidays in second body paragraph.
First and foremost, the value of long school holidays is that students spend their quality time with their family. Although the students are going far from family for higher education, it make a distance between students and family member. In holidays for instance, the students who lives in hostel and far from family although they come back home and spend quality time with family. Furthermore, the another important of long school holidays is that students take a opportunities to experience new place and travel. While they have able time to travel and visit new place in holidays. For example, in summer holidays time a large
a number of pupils prefer to visit to Country side where expen experience with new culture of their place.
On the other hand, the arguments in favour of shorter school holidays is student do not forget the study things. When the student have long time holiday their will be chance to forget past things. However short time holiday to facilitate countinious study and revision, for example One weeks holidays helps remember the things rather than two month holidays. Additionally, the another arguments in favour of shorter school holidays is concentration. Concentrution mean focus on thing with deely, long holidays distract the pupils for shudy however however the shorter holiday facilitate to focus on study.
In conclusion, short or long holidays have own several benefit. However from my perspective shoter holiday have a massive number of benefit. because it give time to spend with family and also facilitate to concentration on study.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about students living in hostels is not clearly linked to the general value of summer holidays for all pupils. The conclusion is also slightly contradictory, as you argue for shorter holidays despite having previously discussed the benefits of long ones. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a clear, well-supported argument that directly answers the specific question asked, and maintain a consistent position throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'the another important of' and 'the another arguments' are used incorrectly, and the transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between hostel life and summer holidays is not logically bridged. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') more naturally and ensure that each sentence flows logically from the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation. For example, 'study things' is informal and imprecise, and 'able time' is an incorrect collocation for 'ample time'. You also use 'concentration' and 'concentrution' inconsistently. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the repetition of basic vocabulary hinder the flow. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repeating the same words. Pay closer attention to word forms and ensure you are using terms that are appropriate for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('it make a distance'), article usage ('in summer season'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or contain awkward phrasing, such as 'While they have able time to travel and visit new place in holidays.' These errors occasionally make the reader work harder to understand your point. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures before attempting more complex ones. Proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and verb tense consistency will significantly improve the clarity and accuracy of your writing.
