Student answer (Band 5.0)

In my country this thing is most popular during summer time, each and every education institutes were gave holiday during this time period. this is the longest time gape vacation that is provide to students. this time is consider as a hottest time of entire year and sun's ray become so harsh and unbreathable. this continues for two months so in this time it consider best time for enjoyment.

most people were thing this is the main cause behind holiday but i'm not fully believe this because a child has their own capacity to study and went through the all process. some time they feel so exhausted to follow a same daily routing. to break this habit and do whatever they want and for had fun this is best period to refresh and start something new that were they want to do but because of responsibility they had in their head they can't do. for that it may main reason to enjoy and create some memory they want to create.

this time is enough for them and appropriate because duration is perfect not less not much. if they gave short time so that is not enough because a whole year they were kept prepare them self for examination and viva from they they need some time for relaxing their self and to go in next grade if schools were not give them time to chillout then we can not get the result that we expect.

looking from the all the situation this is the great decision that was taken by government and this is advantage for child also.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and arguments for shorter ones. However, the development of ideas is limited. The explanation regarding the 'value' of holidays focuses primarily on relaxation and avoiding exhaustion, but lacks depth or specific examples. The arguments for shorter holidays are also underdeveloped, relying on vague statements about academic results rather than exploring potential benefits like increased learning retention or reduced childcare costs. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments are repetitive and lack the necessary detail to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps the overall structure. However, the flow of ideas is often disjointed due to a lack of cohesive devices. Transitions between sentences are frequently missing or misused, such as the abrupt start to the second and third paragraphs. Referencing is sometimes unclear, for example, the phrase 'from they they need' is confusing. While there is an attempt at logical progression, the lack of effective linking words and the repetitive nature of the sentences make the essay feel mechanical and occasionally difficult to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. Basic terms like 'time', 'good', and 'enjoy' are used frequently. There are several instances of awkward word choices and non-standard collocations, such as 'education institutes were gave holiday', 'time gape', and 'kept prepare them self'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To improve, you should focus on learning more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form and context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. There are consistent issues with verb tense consistency (e.g., 'were gave', 'is consider'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, and there is a lack of complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar—such as 'if they gave short time so that is not enough'—prevents the response from reaching a higher band. More focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for tense agreement is essential.
