Student answer (Band 5.5)

this toioc is open to debate that what are the values of long term vacations and short time holidays .in some countris primary and secondary school are close for two or imn some cases three months in summer .

firstly,i support my opinion by giving some reasons and afdvantages of short term holidays in summer . i believe ythat in summer season school are to be close for short time beacuse by long term holidays some student become lazy and bluffers and also waste their time in using mobile phones and some other unusuall activities . some students are to be confident and foucesd to their work but some are only bluffers who do not do their work and waste their time .because of this i think that school ae to opened after one month .

on the otherhand ,some people argued that schools are to be closed for two are three months of summer holidays ,on the basis of some feature and values .longterm holidays has some features regarding students health and mently peace . students boored by study of whole year and they become fresh and peaceful mind after two are three months of summer vacations .there are many concerns regarding students mental and physicall health like in june july and august tempratur pof some cpountris raise around 40 to 45c .in this temprature this is unfair to students for study in school .but soloution of this problem is online study students get lactures on mobile phone and save thier time for study

in conclusion, lomgterm holidays are both profitable and unfair for students becaiuse some studenrs are lazy by nature and they are free to waste thoer time in these longtime holidays but in short time holidays they go to school and save thier crucial time for studies n

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development of ideas is limited. For example, the argument regarding 'mental peace' is mentioned but not fully explained, and the suggestion of 'online study' as a solution to heat is a brief, underdeveloped point. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack depth and specific examples. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations or real-world examples rather than just listing them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate (e.g., 'firstly,i support my opinion', 'on the otherhand'). There are also issues with referencing; for instance, the transition between the benefits of long holidays and the drawbacks is abrupt. The flow of ideas is sometimes hindered by the lack of sophisticated linking words, making the progression feel a bit disjointed at times. Improving the variety and accuracy of your transition signals would significantly enhance the coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'good', 'bad', or 'waste their time'. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'toioc', 'countris', 'tempratur', 'cpountris', 'lactures') and word choice issues (e.g., 'bluffers' is not appropriate in this context). While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the high frequency of spelling mistakes prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary and proofreading your work to correct basic spelling errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('school are to be close', 'students become lazy') and incorrect punctuation. There is a consistent lack of capitalization and spacing after commas, which affects readability. The frequent errors in basic grammar, such as verb tense and article usage, indicate a need for a stronger grasp of fundamental sentence construction before attempting more complex structures.
