Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development of ideas is limited. For example, the explanation regarding 'academic continuity' is brief and lacks depth. The term 'babies' is used incorrectly to refer to school-aged children, which impacts the clarity of your argument. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more specific examples and ensure that your terminology is appropriate for the context of primary and secondary education. The position is clear, but the overall development remains somewhat superficial.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'The intent of this correspondence is that' are inappropriate for an essay, and transitions between sentences are sometimes abrupt. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'both have thair opinion which are discussed'. While there is an attempt to use linking words, the flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and a lack of sophisticated logical progression between ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and contains several errors that occasionally impede communication. You use 'elementry and high institute' instead of 'primary and secondary schools', and 'sophomers' (likely meaning students) is used incorrectly. There are also frequent spelling errors such as 'thair', 'lerner', and 'parentre'. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'academic continuity', the overall range is narrow, and the misuse of words like 'babies' for school children suggests a lack of precision in your lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('others are argue', 'it have certain propractives'), incorrect verb forms ('forgot what they had learn'), and punctuation errors. Complex structures are attempted but are often faulty, such as 'This is because of continue studying pupils become anxious'. These errors are frequent and sometimes make it difficult for the reader to grasp the intended meaning immediately. Greater attention to basic sentence construction and verb tense consistency is required.
