Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argue that in many countries, primary and secondary schools close for two months or more in the summer holidays.
In my opinion, I completely agree of this statement that for some time break is too essential role in both teachers and student's life.
On the one hand, the value of long school holidays have many aspects such as most of the students and teachers are allows to take mental and physical rest. For instance, students can engage extra curriculum activities like sports, camping housing, and also spend a lot of time with their family. Furthermore, learners also experienced to take a part of some work shop or internship. In this way, they enhance their experience and knowledge. While physical and mental health are too important of every human being.
On the other hand, I am convinced that small period of time holidays are also crucial role in a student life. There are many reasons that firstly, a long holidays beyond the children from their books like mathematics and reading. Secondly, parents who have no money to spends extra curriculum. Additionally, the working parents have no extra time to take care of their children full time. As a result, short period holidays engage the students of books.
In conclusion, there ae minor arguments against this, I strongly believe that long school holidays plays a vital role in both learners and educators life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the essay is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of development. The ideas are presented but remain somewhat superficial; for example, the point about working parents is mentioned but not fully explained. The position is clear, but the lack of sufficient length prevents a more thorough exploration of the arguments. To improve, you should aim to expand on your points with more detailed examples and ensure you meet the minimum word count requirement to allow for full task development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as the transition 'While physical and mental health are too important of every human being', which does not logically connect to the previous sentence. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack clear logical progression, making the flow of ideas feel disjointed at times. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help create a smoother, more logical progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'camping housing' instead of 'camping trips' and 'engage the students of books' instead of 'keep students engaged with their studies'. Some phrases are repetitive, and the range of vocabulary is limited to basic terms. To achieve a higher band, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in their correct collocations. Reading more academic texts will help you acquire more natural phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('long school holidays plays'), incorrect preposition usage ('agree of this statement'), and tense inconsistencies ('learners also experienced to take a part'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, and some sentences are grammatically incomplete or confusing. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors impacts the overall quality of the writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
