part-2

In this modern era, somestudents want large school holidays but some are bored to the stay in home . In many countries, primary and secondary schools close for two months or more in the summer holidays while there are argument in favor of shorter school holidays. I give reasons behind this with example.

To begin with, today, the current generation do not like to stay at home especially in holidays. In the school, they spend more time with their friends and in holidays they do not meet them. Moreover, after a long holiday, students forget what they learned before 2 mont so sooter breaks help them to remember things they learned and it may be easier way to concentrate when they return to school. Furthermore,

it is helpful for working parents, when their childrens stay at home they fuce difficulties to finding child care. shorter holidays can make it easier to manage their work and children. In addition, when children do not have any plan for trip or thing to do they become bored during very long holidays. for example, in india schools generally provide two long holiday periods : one for summer vacation and second for diwali vacation and approximate 75 days in a year, they just waste their 3 or 4 months in holidays per year.

on the other hand, in a holidays students get enough time to relax and do give time to their personal hobbies. after smding for many months. They also reduse their stress and fell yerreshed. moreover. in holidays. childeren know their family members more they fumilies can spend more time together. they can plan trips or visits to relatives. Furthermore, in vacation they explore new things and learn about different kind of places and cultures. It is help them to develop practical knowledge outside the classroom inaddition,

teachers also need a break. In vacation they can spend their time with their family members and childrens. In holidays they also improve their teaching skills and take ideas for next academic year.

To sum up, today study is more important but holidays also play vital role. short holidays periods help student remember learning and long period give them rest and stress. It is also help them to reduce stress and enhance relation between family members.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the arguments regarding working parents and student boredom are relevant, they are somewhat under-developed. The essay lacks a clear, consistent position, as it presents arguments for both sides without a strong concluding synthesis. The inclusion of the example from India is helpful, but the overall structure feels a bit disjointed, with some points being repetitive. To reach a higher band, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and fully extended supporting arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently interrupted by mechanical or misused cohesive devices. For instance, the transition 'In addition,' is used awkwardly, and the paragraphing is somewhat erratic, with some sentences starting on new lines unnecessarily. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'they' without a clear antecedent. While the essay is generally coherent, the flow between ideas is often choppy, and the use of linking words is sometimes repetitive or forced, which hinders the overall readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'somestudents', 'sooter', 'fuce', 'smding', 'reduse', and 'fell yerreshed'. These errors occasionally cause the reader to pause, though they do not completely impede communication. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on simple descriptors. To improve, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring correct spelling of common terms to demonstrate a wider, more flexible range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'when their childrens stay at home they fuce difficulties to finding child care'. Punctuation is also problematic, with frequent misuse of full stops where commas should be used, and vice versa. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. The frequency of these errors is high, which significantly impacts the accuracy of the writing.
