Student answer (Band 5.5)
In countless countries, earliness and subordinate schools close for two months or additional in the summer day off. In many countries, students have a summer break lasting two months or more. While such a long holiday gives children time to recover from the demands of school and develop outside the classroom, there are also strong arguments for replacing it with shorter, more frequent breaks.
One benefit for the long summer holidays in many schools .mostly school are prepare for summer task in summer holidays because student complete the summer task in holidays and learn the summer task for exams. but many primary school are very serious for education. on holidays also give children opportunities to pursue activities that are difficult to fit around a school timetable. They may travel with their families, take up a hobby, play sports or spend more time with friends. Such experiences can contribute to their independence and social development in ways that formal education alone cannot always provide.
However, shorter school holidays have several advantages. The most significant is that they can help students retain what they have learned. After being away from school for two or three months, some children, particularly those who have limited opportunities to study at home, may forget a considerable amount of previously taught material. Teachers then have to spend valuable classroom time reviewing old topics before introducing new ones. More frequent and shorter breaks would allow students to rest without creating such a long interruption to their education. In addition, shorter summer holidays could make life considerably easier for working parents, who may otherwise have to arrange childcare for their children throughout the entire summer.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the second and third paragraphs provide relevant points, the introduction contains confusing phrasing ('earliness and subordinate schools'), and the conclusion is poorly developed, failing to summarize the main arguments effectively. The focus on 'summer tasks' in the conclusion is repetitive and does not add value to the essay. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that the conclusion synthesizes the points made rather than introducing fragmented thoughts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'In conclusions' is grammatically incorrect, and the connection between sentences within paragraphs is sometimes weak, particularly in the final paragraph where the ideas feel disjointed. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the phrase 'the school responsibility is summer task is delivered in some student'. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'on the other hand') and ensuring logical flow between sentences would significantly improve the coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'earliness and subordinate schools' (likely intended to mean primary and secondary) and 'day off' instead of 'holiday'. The repetition of 'summer task' throughout the essay limits the lexical range. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of word-choice errors prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('mostly school are prepare'), incorrect article usage, and fragmented sentence construction ('the school responsibility is summer task is delivered in some student'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences lacking proper structure. While the reader can understand the writer's intent, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score. Focusing on sentence construction, verb tenses, and proofreading for basic errors would be beneficial.
