Student answer (Band 5.0)
Long Summer vacation in Primary and Secondary schools are given in many countries, I think these holidays should must be given to childrens in order to rewired there mind from education, this eassy will also discuss the agruments in the favour of shorter school holiday.
Long summer vocation are important because involving in the intensive educational routine exoustes many children by taking a long brake, gives them a space to reconsider it cognative activities and polishe their practical skills. I know an individual from my family, he was studying in all season school where they have no summer vocations so when he came to practical life he has only learned the book stuff but unaware of practical skills which later on arises problems in his life no one was ready to give him a job because of it so it's very important to take a long break and learn some practical stuff
Some People have the opinion that school should be close for the shorter periode of time beacause they have observed their children which have lost interest in study after a long vocation which greatly impact the children grades i was studing in the school where they give long vocation so when ever i came back from my vocation it would be hard for me to focus in class and do studing my subjects due to which i score less than usaull so thats why some people are agains my opinion
In a nutshell, Long voaction are good to rewired your mind from the educational activites and learn some practical stuff but in these vocation i think that student also have to stay intouch with there studing inorder to maintain there interest in studies .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response attempts to address all parts of the prompt by discussing both the value of long school holidays and the arguments in favour of shorter ones. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on the value of holidays centres primarily on learning practical skills, illustrated by a single personal anecdote about a family member. Similarly, the counterargument focuses heavily on a drop in grades due to lost interest, supported by another personal example. While a clear position is established in the introduction, the arguments lack broader academic extension and rely too heavily on anecdotal evidence rather than fully developed societal or educational perspectives. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, fitting the criteria for Band 5.5 to 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays a basic overall structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, paragraphing is not used effectively; the second body paragraph runs into a run-on structure, and sentence boundaries are frequently blurred by comma splices, such as in '...in many countries, I think these holidays should must...'. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes inaccurate or mechanical, relying heavily on basic linkers like 'because', 'so', and 'some people have the opinion'. Progression is somewhat disjointed due to the lack of clear transitional phrases between the main ideas, leading to a choppy flow. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as ambiguous pronoun use. Overall, this corresponds to a Band 5.0 in coherence and cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary to convey basic ideas related to education, such as 'educational routine', 'practical skills', and 'academic activities'. However, there are numerous lexical errors and spelling mistakes throughout the text, including 'rewired' instead of 'refresh', 'eassy', 'vocation' instead of 'vacation', 'exoustes', 'cognative', 'polishe', and 'periode'. Some words are used with incorrect collocations or forms, such as 'stay intouch with there studing'. These errors occasionally impede smooth reading, although the meaning remains generally decipherable. The vocabulary is repetitive and lacks less common or sophisticated items used with precision, placing this performance at a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but grammatical accuracy is severely compromised by frequent and systematic errors. There are numerous punctuation errors, particularly comma splices and run-on sentences (e.g., '...so when he came to practical life he has only learned the book stuff...'). Verb tense consistency and modal verb usage are problematic, as seen in 'should must be given' and 'childrens'. Subject-verb agreement errors also occur, such as 'children which have lost interest'. While the writer attempts complex sentences, they are frequently faulty and lack proper control over punctuation and syntax. Consequently, this performance aligns closely with a Band 4.5 to 5.0.
