Student answer (Band 4.5)

In more countries, primary and secondary academic learning shut for the two or more months in summer vacations In my opinion, long school holidays are lots of benefits because children, youngers, are fade up because summer holidays perform the vital on studies.

Intially, the value of summer vaction students spent more time with families like mother, father, and siblings. Many students spent vaction on nani house .Because no tension for wake up early in the morning anfd ready for school.Such as, lots of students spend good quality of time on vacation.explore new things and enjoy the holidays. Moreover, complete the summer work in summer vactions not waste the time in unnecessary things.

Furthermore, the arguement in favur of shorter school vacation because its benefit for the student because complete the work on time. and quickely complete the summer work also enjoy the vacation. Some people are not favour on the shorter school holidays not goin g to other city to explore things anddid not create the momories. For example, shorter period of time not spend time togather cause shhorter vacation. bacause after vacation submit the work on school. and after opening the school.

in conclusion, both catagories are own rules and regulation because lots of activities performed in holidays going for trips and create beautiful memories with parents also complete the work on time while in shorter vaction are not going in anywhere because the pressure of work if not complete the work on time before opening the school its very difficult and just focus on work intead going outside.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt, discussing the value of long school holidays and the arguments for shorter breaks. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes unclear due to expression and grammatical issues. For instance, the writer mentions spending time with family and going to grandparents' houses ('nani house'), but the explanation of arguments in favour of shorter holidays becomes repetitive and confusing, referring vaguely to 'complete the work on time'. The position is evident throughout, but ideas remain underdeveloped, corresponding best to a Band 5 performance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall organization lacks a clear, logical progression. While some cohesive devices are attempted, such as 'Intially', 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'in conclusion', they are often used incorrectly or mechanically. Referencing is frequently unclear, and sentences within paragraphs often do not flow smoothly into one another, making the overall structure difficult to follow at times. This fits the Band 5 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The lexical resource is limited and basic. The student relies heavily on simple, repetitive vocabulary, such as 'summer holidays', 'summer work', and 'vaction'. There are numerous spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'Intially' instead of initially, 'vaction' instead of vacation, 'fade up' instead of fed up, and 'togather' instead of together. Less common vocabulary is attempted with very low accuracy, which frequently causes difficulty for the reader and places the response firmly in the Band 4 to Band 5 range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Simple sentences dominate, and attempts at more complex structures are heavily flawed and ungrammatical, lacking essential verbs, subjects, or correct clause linking. There are frequent errors in punctuation and tense usage, such as 'primary and secondary academic learning shut for the two or more months' and 'shorter school vacation because its benefit for the student'. These persistent errors frequently cause strain and difficulty for the reader, aligning with Band 4 descriptors.
