Student answer (Band 4.5)
In many countries, peimary and secondary schools close for twp months or more in the summer vacation. The value for long school holidays due to the heavy hot , warm and the sun light is very strong . My favour is according to the weather, the holidays will shorter or longer that we discuss.
To begin with, like India, other countries also have summer holidays for 2 or more months. Hence that time we felt so hot and the weather is not suitable . Especially childrens , because they do not know how to protect from sun stroke, sun burn . As a result, childrens are the upcoming future, so we always focus how they feel good and healthy. Moreover from april to june the hottness feels heavy and the tempretaure cross above 50 degrees. Whereas a human is not survive in such condition. We always remind to take water and stay hydrated . That time we mostly use umbrella , eat some watery fruits and drink lassi, butermilk and etc. We wear white dress so the hit transfer .
In addition, governments also focus on citizens life. They advice if the work is not necessary then don't come out from home. Many places some club or politicians distributes free water and fruits to the travelers . In contrast childrens are very small they can't handle if they get feel any sun stroke and some health issue. So, governmnets declare to holidays for school childrens . So, they also enjoy and spend some time with their family members. That time i remebered i did many homeworks , projects . So, no doubt we have numerous spare time but we also did study. In my views it is the good way to take all childrens care. While if they will go school may be they will not drinking water and may suffer . So, the best way is they are stay in home under their parents guidelines.
In conclusion, i agree with long time school holidays . Still rainy season is not start till we should continue the holidays. Hence childrens may not suffer from sun strok and other health issues.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt, discussing the value of long school holidays (mainly focusing on avoiding extreme heat and health issues like sunstroke) and touching upon shorter holidays or why they might not be favoured. However, the development of ideas is limited, heavily repetitive, and focuses almost exclusively on weather conditions rather than broader educational, social, or economic arguments. Phrases like 'My favour is according to the weather, the holidays will shorter or longer that we discuss' lack clarity. While the student takes a clear stance supporting long holidays, the reasoning is underdeveloped and wanders into tangents about personal anecdotes and local food. This places the performance firmly at Band 5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, featuring an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by abrupt transitions and disjointed sentences. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as starting paragraphs with 'Hence that time' or using 'In contrast childrens are very small' where contrast is not logically established. Referencing is often unclear, leaving the reader confused about the exact connection between ideas. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is weak, leading to an overall arrangement that aligns with Band 5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
Vocabulary is basic and repetitive throughout the essay. The student relies heavily on simple words and phrases such as 'hot', 'weather', 'childrens', and 'home'. There are numerous spelling errors including 'peimary' for primary, 'twp' for two, 'hottness', 'tempretaure', and 'governmnets'. Attempts to use less common vocabulary fail due to unnatural collocation and word choice errors, such as 'survive in such condition' instead of 'survive in such conditions', and 'hit transfer' instead of 'heat transfer'. The lexical range is minimally adequate to convey basic meaning but causes frequent distraction for the reader, fitting a Band 4.5 to 5.0 profile.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures. Simple sentences predominate, and attempts at complex structures are frequently flawed by severe grammatical errors and poor syntax, such as 'Whereas a human is not survive in such condition' and 'Still rainy season is not start till we should continue the holidays'. Errors in subject-verb agreement, tense consistency, and article usage are pervasive throughout the text (e.g., 'declare to holidays for school childrens'). These frequent errors and the lack of complex error-free sentences restrict the score to Band 4.0.
