Student answer (Band 5.0)
In numerous nations, primary and secondary schools shutdown for almost sixty days or more in the summer vacations. In my opinion i would say that upto two months students should get the rid of school and exams. This will help them to enrolled in some activities which they liken to do this will make their career also for the future.
To commence with, students should get two months holiday then they can focus on the things which they like to do on their free time. Study is important but playing some sports or hobby word can make their mind more sharper. This built there confidence and experencie will led them to there highest good. This will also help them to stay helathy because sport can make their physical body in good condition. By this both mentally and physically they can able to do anything.
However, some individuls think that students should not get more holidays because then they will forget the previous studies which they learned in the school. While some of them are using there screens majorly and parents are concenerd about this so they want there kids go to school as soon as possible. But if kids will go out and play some games with there parents or freinds will distract there mind from phones. So both parents and kids both should understant and value the free time and utilised it in a better way which will connect them together.
In conclusion, i will say that students should utilsed there vacation in the things or activites they might like to do in there free time. Which will make there future good and bright and improves the phyiscal and mnetal life also.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the value of long school holidays such as pursuing hobbies and physical health, as well as the arguments in favour of shorter holidays regarding screen time and learning retention. A clear position is stated in the introduction and maintained throughout the essay. However, the ideas are relatively basic and sometimes under-developed, relying on general assertions rather than deep elaboration or specific examples. For instance, the phrase 'this will make their career also for the future' is a sweeping claim without clear support. The response meets the core requirements of Task Achievement and covers the prompt adequately, aligning best with a Band 6.0 descriptor where all parts are addressed with relevant ideas, though some lack full extension.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an overall awareness of paragraphing. However, progression and logical transitions are frequently hindered by mechanical or faulty cohesion. Transitional phrases like 'To commence with' and 'In conclusion' are used, but internal cohesion is weak. For example, the sentence 'Study is important but playing some sports or hobby word can make their mind more sharper. This built there confidence and experencie will led them to there highest good.' features abrupt shifts and referencing issues ('this built there confidence') that obscure the logical link between sentences. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal flow within paragraphs requires more careful signposting to reach a higher band level.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'physical body in good condition' and 'learning retention' concepts. However, there are numerous inappropriate word choices, awkward collocations, and spelling errors throughout the text. Examples include 'shutdown' instead of 'shut down', 'get the rid of' instead of 'get rid of', 'enrolled in' instead of 'enroll in', 'hobby word', 'more sharper' (double comparative), 'concenerd', 'understant', and 'utilsed'. These errors reflect a limited control over word formation and spelling, although communication is generally maintained. This performance corresponds to a Band 5.0 lexical range and accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, attempting conditional and subordinate clauses (e.g., 'While some of them are using there screens majorly...', 'So both parents and kids both should understant...'). However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in verb forms, prepositions, and agreement. Notable errors include 'In my opinion i would say', 'they can able to do anything', and persistent confusion with pronouns and possessive adjectives ('there' used instead of 'their' or 'they're'). Punctuation is also problematic, with run-on sentences and comma splices. Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader, the grammar aligns with a Band 5.0 descriptor.
