Student answer (Band 4.5)
In various countries, the holidays are being held for more than two months in primary and secondary school and holidays may extend to more mainly during summer
I keep perspective of long school holidays mainly in summer is significantly appropriate for the primary and secondary schools because the summer are too high climate during these time if school were kept open many health issues can arouse like dehydration, dizziness and vomitting due to high sun time to keep this kind of problems away it is better to keep long vacation during summer. For example, during long holidays students can enroll into some other creative activities like basket ball, swimming classes, karate classes, and can also join. a summer camp were some fun activities like entertaintment , dancing , singing can also be prefer.Along with study physical activities are also important to maintain good healthier well being
On other hand ,shorter school holidays are also having thier lookafter for studies justlike other schools have long vacation in summer. however, they manage their syllabus but for some schools thhey prefer to keep small holidays for students because their main goal is on to maintan the completion of syllabus of pupils in given period of time .Many schools doesnot give long holiday for once but can give holiday for short holidays fr two to three times. To illustrate, that short holidays like they offer holidays for 10 to 15 days instead of two months as compared to long holidays . Short holidays can be given like 10 to 15 days in Diwali vacation then again 10 to 15 days holiday in Chritsmas
In conclusion, the criteria of schools for giving vacation to learners can be long or short according to their management but their main goal should be developement of learner in perspective of both carrier and well being

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the value of long school holidays and arguments in favour of shorter ones. The writer introduces health considerations during hot summer weather, such as avoiding dehydration, and suggests engaging in creative and physical activities. The second body paragraph discusses the rationale for shorter holidays, noting how some institutions prefer maintaining continuous syllabus completion through frequent breaks like Diwali or Christmas. However, the ideas are relatively under-developed and lack depth or fully articulated supporting examples. The position is sometimes difficult to follow due to disjointed phrasing, which places this response at Band 5.0 in terms of task coverage and idea extension.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The text is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, overall progression is hindered by poor punctuation, a lack of sentence boundaries, and weak cohesive ties. Phrases like 'On other hand' and 'To illustrate' are used, but sentences run together without adequate periods or capital letters (for instance, '...and can also join. a summer camp were some fun activities...'). Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is frequently faulty and repetitive, reflecting the descriptors for Band 4.0, where information and ideas are not arranged coherently enough to ensure smooth reading.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, with limited range appropriate for an academic task. Words like 'holidays', 'schools', and 'students' are reused frequently without effective substitution. There are noticeable spelling errors ('vomitting', 'maintan', 'doesnot', 'Chritsmas', 'carrier' instead of 'career') and awkward collocations ('too high climate', 'lookafter for studies'). These errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader and restrict the lexical score to a Band 4.0, as the vocabulary is basic and restricts precise communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
Grammatical control is weak throughout the essay. The text relies heavily on long, run-on sentences connected by conjunctions or commas where full stops are required, demonstrating a severe lack of punctuation control (e.g., '...due to high sun time to keep this kind of problems away it is better to keep long vacation during summer.'). Attempts at complex sentence structures frequently result in faulty clauses and agreement errors. Errors are frequent and often distort meaning or strain the reader, aligning with the Band 4.0 criteria for grammatical range and accuracy.
