Student answer (Band 5.0)
Primary and secondary schools close for two or more months in summer holidays in many countries is not a bad thing.
Long school holidays is the time in which students can relaxe from the same daily routine. It gives the break to children that they can do many other activities and can build new skills in them. Like many children now a days are very fond of using digital devices and seeing new techniques to do any work in different ways. They can do anything according to thier choice and can do physical activities rather than theoratical studies. That skills will be helpful in their future.
In summer holidays, children have more time to spend with family and friends and can build a strong connection with them. They can travel and explore various areas and cultures. And, can evolve new hobbies according to their interests.
Like, My younger brother did not know that he can do social media content creation because of the boring and same daily life. He was not able to explore his that side before but when he was free in his summer holidays. He has so much free time to explore different fields. He took interest in social media content and learnt how to create reels and get many followers. Now, he is a good content creator.
In conclusion, I think this time give the children to explore their different interests and can pick anything l

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the value of long holidays such as relaxation and skill-building, but touches only briefly on shorter holidays implicitly rather than developing explicit counter-arguments. Crucially, the length requirement is not met, as the response contains only 240 words, which falls short of the 250-word minimum. This under-length impacts the overall development of ideas, leading to an abrupt ending where the final sentence is incomplete: 'and can pick anything l'. Because of this incomplete conclusion and the lack of a fully developed discussion regarding shorter holidays, the task response is limited. To improve, ensure all parts of the prompt are given equal weight and that the minimum word count is strictly satisfied.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay has some basic organization with discernible paragraphs introducing the main ideas, family time, and a personal example. However, the logical progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and weak cohesive ties. Phrases like 'In summer holidays' are overused to start paragraphs, and sentences within paragraphs sometimes lack smooth transitions, such as starting a sentence with 'And, can evolve new hobbies'. Furthermore, referencing is occasionally imprecise. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final paragraph breaks off mid-sentence, disrupting the overall structure and cohesion of the text. To reach a higher band, the writer needs to ensure every paragraph has a clear internal progression and that cohesive devices are used more accurately and flexibly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses a basic and sometimes repetitive range of vocabulary suited to straightforward tasks. Words like 'relaxe', 'theoratical', and 'thier' indicate spelling issues. While there are attempts to use less common items such as 'social media content creation' and 'digital devices', the vocabulary control is inconsistent. Collocations and word choices are occasionally awkward, such as 'seeing new techniques to do any work' instead of 'learning new methods'. Word formation errors also appear, for instance using 'theoratical studies' instead of 'theoretical studies'. To improve lexical score, the student should focus on accurate spelling and expanding their repertoire of precise, natural collocations for academic topics.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The text displays a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, though complex structures are frequently faulty. Examples include 'Long school holidays is the time...', which contains a subject-verb agreement error ('holidays is'), and 'This skills will be helpful...', which has a demonstrative agreement error ('This skills'). There are also fragments and incomplete thoughts, exacerbated by the unfinished final sentence. Punctuation is sometimes misused, such as starting sentences with conjunctions followed by commas ('And, can evolve new hobbies...'). While some simple sentences are clear and understandable, the frequency of grammatical errors in more complex structures pulls the score down to this band level.
