Student answer (Band 5.0)

In many countries primary and secondary schools get summer holidays for two or more than two months.

In my point of view long school holidays are very important for students because in summer there is a lot of hot and sunny days which may affect on students health. long school holidays are very valuable for students because they visited relatives home and spend time together which is very important and enjoyful for them. In vacations student went for hilly stations and enjoy in mountains. so this type of outing and activities are very effective fot students health and for brain. so holidays plays a key role for the enjoyment of the students life.

If i talk about myself i am not in favour of shorter holidays because a student study almost for nine months so at least students deserve 3 months for holidays. If students dont get holidays for at at least for three months if they dont get they may be affected and got stress and may not concentrate fully on studies this may damage their studies very badly.

If i talk about present examples so one international health orginization remarks that holidays are very crucial for a child to study good and maintain health. so i school dont gave holidays so students may get rid of studies and and may get stress.

so on the other hand schools neet to gave more summer holidays to child but if there is difficulty in completing they may gave shorter holidays to just secondary students.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt, discussing the value of long holidays such as health benefits, relaxation, and family time, while briefly touching upon arguments for shorter holidays or concerns about the lack of them. However, the position is not always clearly sustained, and the arguments are underdeveloped and repetitive, relying on general statements like 'this type of outing and activities are very effective fot students health' without concrete examples. The reference to 'one international health orginization' is vague and lacks detail. While the student attempts to fulfill the prompt requirements, the overall development of ideas aligns with a Band 5 performance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is divided into paragraphs, but the overall organisation lacks a clear logical progression. The response frequently relies on informal transitional phrases such as 'If i talk about myself' and 'If i talk about present examples', which gives the writing a conversational and disjointed feel. Cohesive devices are used repetitively, particularly connectors like 'so' and 'because', creating run-on thoughts and loose sentence relationships. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas is erratic, making it difficult for the reader to follow a cohesive line of argument. These features place the response firmly in the Band 5 category.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently reusing simple terms such as 'students', 'holidays', 'health', and 'important'. There are notable spelling errors throughout the text, including 'enjoyful', 'fot', 'orginization', 'gave' (used for give/given), and 'neet'. Word choices are often unnatural or imprecise, such as 'study good' instead of 'study well' or 'visit relatives home'. The lexical range is minimally adequate for conveying basic ideas, but the frequent errors in word choice and spelling cause some difficulty and cap the score at Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, consisting mostly of simple or repetitive complex sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions. There is a total lack of capitalization for the pronoun 'I' and at the beginning of sentences. Frequent punctuation errors are present, particularly run-on sentences connected excessively by 'so'. Grammatical inaccuracies are pervasive throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues like 'holidays plays', preposition errors such as 'affect on', and tense/form errors like 'student went' and 'schools neet to gave'. These frequent errors frequently impede smooth reading, reflecting a Band 4 grammatical performance.
