In most of the countries, primary and secondary educational institutes are off for eight weeks or more during summers for holidays.

To begin with, there are many setbacks of longer holidays. such as, individuals feel relax and they do not focus on their studies and spend their time playing games, watching movies and also sleep late at night. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt regarding the value of long school holidays and arguments in favour of shorter ones, but the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. The introduction briefly touches upon the duration of holidays, and the body paragraphs discuss potential negative consequences like boredom and adopting bad habits, as well as solutions such as summer camps and online apps. However, the first prompt question regarding the positive 'value' of long holidays is only vaguely alluded to rather than fully explored, as the student quickly shifts into the drawbacks. Furthermore, the position is not always clearly sustained throughout, leading to an overall score at the Band 5 level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays some basic organisational structure with attempts at paragraphing and transitional phrases such as 'To begin with', 'Secondly', and 'Conclusion'. However, overall progression is lacking, and the paragraphing conventions are somewhat weak—for instance, the concluding paragraph begins abruptly with 'Conclusion,' and the body paragraphs mix arguments and recommendations confusingly. Cohesive devices are often used mechanically or inaccurately, and referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'Given the facilities to kids. Such as, online educational app...'). These issues place the response firmly in the Band 5 category for cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with frequent reliance on simple words like 'scholars', 'kids', 'things', and 'good/bad'. There are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and awkward word choices, such as 'feel relax' instead of 'relaxed', 'get bore' instead of 'bored', and 'weekness' instead of 'weakness'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey basic ideas, the limitations and errors cause some difficulty for the reader, matching the Band 5 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many complex attempts are flawed by punctuation errors, fragment sentences, and grammatical inaccuracies. Examples include '...thats why they will get bore at home and join bad company which can spoil them', '...get disturb and cause weekness', and the incomplete sentence fragment 'Conclusion, the government should reduce the time period of holidays.' Frequent errors in tense consistency, prepositions, and sentence boundaries cause distraction and occasional difficulty for the reader, indicating a Band 5 performance.
