Schools play an essential role to guide students in a right way. in may countries, school has closed for more than two months due to summer holidays. In this ideology i will discuss merits and demerits of long school holidays in subsequent paragraphs.
Without any qualms, there are several compelling benefits of long school holidays. First and foremost one is reduce burden. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt regarding the value of long school holidays and the arguments for shorter ones. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes unclear due to expression issues. For instance, the student mentions that holidays 'reduce burden' and allow students to 'explore more about ancient things', which touches upon relevant points, but these ideas remain underdeveloped. The position is generally clear, though the supporting arguments tend to be repetitive and lack specific, well-formulated examples. Overall, the task is addressed, but the depth of discussion corresponds to a Band 5.0 level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an attempt at overall organisation. However, the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and mechanical cohesive devices like 'To be more clear' and 'To frisk it'. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is often faulty and referencing is unclear in places, such as 'they keep touch with them'. The overall structure provides some organisation, but the lack of smooth logical flow and accurate cohesive ties places this performance at a Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses a limited and frequently inaccurate range of vocabulary. There are numerous spelling mistakes ('in may countries', 'yake sone yime', 'yhings', 'tnowledge', 'bosst', 'vocations', 'ine', 'bcoz') and odd collocations ('heed on their studies', 'frisk it'). While the writer attempts less common items, the high frequency of word-choice errors and spelling mistakes noticeably impedes communication and causes difficulty for the reader at times. This lexical control aligns closely with the Band 4.0 or 5.0 descriptors, comfortably sitting at Band 4.5, rounded to Band 5.0 for minimally adequate range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response contains a very limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, such as in 'As soon as when offsprings yake sone yime during vacations then they have chance to travel'. There are frequent errors in basic grammar, subject-verb agreement ('school has closed'), and punctuation. These errors often cause difficulty for the reader and obscure the intended meaning. Simple sentences are handled with frequent errors, and the overall grammatical accuracy falls short of Band 6.0 standards.
