IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In many countries, primary and secondary schools close for two months or more in the summer holidays.

What is the value of long school holidays?

What are the arguments in favour of shorter school holidays?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

In contemporary society, today's education system are giving more break to elementary and high schools student's. They forgot the actual value of the school break, rather than longer there should be lesser break in the summer time, both the question's are briefly discuss on the following paragraphs.

The longer break is an example of practice, improve on your mistakes, enhancing your skills but tasks are viewing different, it means some of the students might go to the vacation or at their native place with family, the summer holidays are not for the vacation or "have a break", it is for gaining the confidence and learning some part every-day lesson besides education. From my point of view, the longer break is like wasting the everyday knowledge, not for who actually doing efficiently work on summer break, these is for the students who just lay down and watching the television and also not spending the days in productive manner.

For the second question, there are many verbal debate happens on the sides of shorter school holidays. The shorter holiday like 3 to 4 weeks are very convenient for the education purpose because remaining days are beneficial for the students itself, while wasting the time on the vacation or in other activities, the education system have to introduce a program for the students who getting lower marks in their exam, so it can very helpful for students future. That is why shorter break are good for students rather than having longer breaks.

To sum up it all, the practice makes any human perfect. For some students holiday's might give you better time for learning new things but it does not helpful for students who did not catch up the speed in the regular classes, that's why the system has to implement the classes on the summer break.
