Student answer (Band 5.5)
Holidays are part of the education system.Primary and secondary shools remain off for two months due to summer vacations in many countries. In this essay i will discuss the importance of long holidays and also give the reasons in side of shorter holidays.
To commence with ,today we are living in a modern world.Children are more educated as compared to the past. The long holidays depend on the countries weather condtions. In many countries schools remain close for the long time because of their hot and cold weather condtions. For instance ,in Asia the weather is too hot to handle in summer .Pupils cannot face the such kind of hot weather. So the government of this region make decision for long time school closing.Sometimes children feel stress due to continuously study. So the school management team think the children should need to take a break for long time .After they will continue study with more confidece.
On the other hand, short time vacations have their own benefits and drawbacks. For instance, short time holidays mean that the children will connect with thier study.Short time holdays can play a vital role in good education results. This is due to short gap with the children and holidays.Another big reason is that the pupils feel more energetic and confidence.
To sum up,according to my point of view i think the long time vacation have positive feedbacks more as compared to negative.Children after a long gap with study show the better efforts in results. So the government should need to focus on long vacations in schools.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The student addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both the value of long school holidays and the arguments in favour of shorter ones, mentioning weather conditions, stress relief, and educational results. A clear position is stated in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion. However, the ideas are relatively basic and lack full extension or concrete supporting examples beyond vague generalisations such as in Asia the weather is too hot to handle. While the response touches on the key issues, the arguments would benefit from greater depth and more thorough explanation. Consequently, the performance aligns best with Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response is arranged into four paragraphs with a basic overall structure, featuring standard introductory and concluding remarks alongside two body paragraphs. However, logical progression is occasionally hindered by abrupt transitions and repetitive phrasing. Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes mechanical or awkwardly placed, as seen with To commence with, today we are living in a modern world. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal flow of ideas lacks seamless connection. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronouns like they. Overall, the organisational framework is evident but exhibits mechanical faults, placing it securely at Band 5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range to communicate basic points about the topic, using terms such as education system, summer vacations, government, and energetic. However, there are notable limitations and recurring errors in word choice and collocation, such as continuously study instead of continuous study, weather condtions (spelling error), and in side of instead of in favour of. Attempts at less common vocabulary, such as confident or energetic, sometimes suffer from inaccurate morphological forms like confidece and confidence. These lexical inaccuracies do not completely impede communication, but they restrict the score to Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and article usage, such as pupils cannot face the such kind of hot weather, the government of this region make decision, and short time holidays mean that the children will connect with thier study. Punctuation and spacing errors, including missing spaces after commas and periods, are also prevalent throughout the text. While simple sentences are generally understandable, attempts at complexity often result in faulty structures, justifying a Band 5 score.
