Student answer (Band 5.0)
Education is the third eye of humans. It is believed by a few individuals that long school holidays are more beneficial for childrens. While others argue that on the favour of shorter holidays. I discuss on both views for which vindication would be elaborated in the upcomming paragraphs.I am however with former view.
To commence with, there are several merits of longer holidays. The first and foremost is, spend more time in study. To explain it, when schools give longer holidays to students then learners learn more new topics and study related ideas because they have a lot of time for studying. Students are not only learn more new skills but also they go to long trip with their family. As an example, in the longer vacations, humans spend a lot of time in the learning of new skills like mechanic or cook. Childrens are also spent time with their family in the holidays. Therefore, longer holidays are more useful for kids.
Nevertheless, there are some merits of short time vacation. One of the prominent merit is that when students have short time holidays then focus more on their study rather than long period holidays because during long time daysoff kids become lazy and it is difficulty for children to focus again on education. The another point is, nowadays, parents have less time for their kid because all parents are more busy in thier work or business if thier kids have small holidays then parents have less burden of their childcare. Hence, small time school vacations are more useful for parents and students.
In conclusion, after taking all aspects in my consideration. I would like to emphasize that longer holidays are more useful for student such as spend a lot of time in study, go for long trip and learn new or common skills. But do not forget the some benefits of shorter holidays.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The student addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both the value of long school holidays and the arguments in favour of shorter ones, whilst also stating a personal position. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the argument that longer holidays allow students to 'spend more time in study' contradicts common assumptions and is not clearly supported with convincing explanations or well-developed examples. The vocabulary choice regarding learning to 'mechanic or cook' is rather simplistic. The position is stated, but the ideas tend to be over-generalised and lack depth. These tendencies place the response firmly at Band 5.0, where the task is addressed, but ideas remain under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an attempt at logical paragraphing. However, progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and poor referencing. The phrase 'I discuss on both views for which vindication would be elaborated in the upcomming paragraphs' is unnatural and overly mechanical. Cohesive devices are often inadequate or inaccurate, such as 'The another point is', which contains a grammatical error and awkward linking. Paragraph internal cohesion is weak because sentences do not flow smoothly from one to the next, often resulting in choppy and disjointed reading. Overall, the structural arrangement meets the requirements of a Band 5.0, showing basic organisation but lacking clear, fluent progression throughout.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently impeded by word-choice and collocation errors. Examples include 'childrens' instead of children, 'short time vacation', and 'mechanic or cook' instead of mechanics or cooking. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'vindication', but uses it incorrectly within the context of the sentence. Words are often misused grammatically or stylistically, such as 'on the favour of shorter holidays'. These noticeable errors cause some difficulty for the reader and demonstrate a limited, minimally adequate range of vocabulary, which is characteristic of Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a very limited range of structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('childrens are also spent time'), preposition errors ('on the favour'), and tense inconsistencies ('Students are not only learn'). Punctuation is also problematic, including run-on sentences and missing spaces after periods (e.g., 'paragraphs.I am however'). The frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and mean that simple sentences are often more reliable than complex ones. These features align closely with the Band 5.0 descriptors.
